A Japanese Festival Is Coming To Sydney

20th Nov 2017

Christmas isn’t the only thing we’re looking forward to this December—the Matsuri Japan Festival is coming back to Sydney. And you know what that means, team. A whole lotta gyoza, saké and sumo wrestling. The festival is a free all day event where you can bring your entire crew, stuff yourselves silly and get cultured AF about all things Japan.

Since the festival will be packed with live entertainment, workshops and cosplay, you’ll obviously need plenty of food to get your through the entire day. Matsuri Japan Festival has a looong list of top notch foodies lined up like Sushi Samurai, Nagisa Gyoza and Modern Yaki. Come with an empty stomach and leave a few kg’s heavier all thanks to okonomiyaki (Japanese pancakes) from Colotako and seven or so bento boxes from Hotto Motto.

To make life even better, Shirataki Sake Brewery and CHOYA will be delivering the (alcoholic) goods. This festival is going to be a hot one (thanks Sydney December, thanks a lot) so you’ll also want to get your hands on a chilly, iced matcha and yuzu lemonade while you’re there. Oh, and all that saké we mentioned earlier (obvs).
