The good news is really rolling in this week. As well as learning that iso restrictions will start to ease off in Sydney as of Friday—that dining in at restaurants, picnics and outdoor pools are all possible activities—we’ve just heard that NSW has reported zero new coronavirus cases for the first time since the pandemic began.

Oh! And there’ll also be a giant silver cocktail shaker cruising around the streets of Sydney, delivering free cocktails from a few of your fave Sydney bars for the next month.

Nope, not a drill. To help lift our spirits after a grizzly couple of months, Monkey Shoulder whisky has created the Monkey Mixer, Australia’s biggest cocktail mixer truck. And from tomorrow, it will be pouring free cocktails from The Roosevelt, Donny’s Bar in Manly, The Unicorn and Maybe Sammy (you know, just one of the Worlds 50 Best Bars).

Kicking off on World Cocktail Day (that's tomorrow, Wednesday 13 May), the Monkey Mixer will buddy up with The Roosevelt to dish out two drinks: a whisky spin on an espresso martini called "The Espresso Monkey", and a whisky version of the iconic Negroni called "The Boulevardier #3".

To get your hands on a free bevvy and check if the Monkey Mixer will deliver to you, head to the partner venues' website, enter the code "madeformixing" and the keep your eyes peeled for an oversized shaker. For The Roosevelt, head here, navigate to the "Monkey Shoulder Cocktails" menu, pick your poison and enter the code "madeformixing" to make it free.

Deliveries from The Roosevelt will be made from tomorrow unitl Sunday 17 May to surrounding suburbs.

Next stop is The Unicorn (20 - 24 May), followed by Donny's Bar (27 - 31 May) and finally, Maybe Sammy (3 - 7 June).
