Where to Celebrate Star Wars Day in Sydney

By Yvonne Lam
3rd May 2018

Charge your lightsabers, May the Fourth is around the corner. The pun-tastic day to celebrate all things Star Wars is upon us. On the checklist for a truly stellar day: 1) Pick up Chewbacca costume (the hirsute hair-suit) from the drycleaners; 2) Nail that paternity test (to avoid those awkward, “No, I’m your father” moments); 3) Attend one (or more!) of the below Star Wars events around town.

Star Wars Trivia

Marrickville Library

The Inner West Council is holding a family-friendly Star Wars trivia night at Marrickville Library. They promise themed snacks (Princess Leia scrolls, anybody?) and prizes for best costumes and trivia winners. And since you asked, our suggested trivia names include: Bite Off More Than You Can Chewbacca, Han #YOLO. You’re welcome.

Free, but bookings are essential.
4 May, 7–8.30pm

Stars Wars + Cinco de Mayo

The Ritz, Marrickville

A droid, a porg and an ewok walk into a tequila bar… In a strange-but-true cultural mash-up, May the Fourth happens just before May the Fifth, AKA Cinco de Mayo.If you can’t choose which to celebrate, porque no los dos? The Ritz will be holding two consecutive days of $10 Star Wars themed margaritas and live music.
