Wine + run = fun run. If there’s one sure-fire technique to nail that personal best, it’s the promise of wine at the finish line. The organisers of The Grapest 5k Run have hit a niche with this one, combining a fun run, wine tasting and live tunes into a single, ingenious event. And did we mention the running course is at a vineyard in the Hunter Valley?
Choose from a 5 km (moderately sane) or 10 km (are you crazy?) run, then treat yourself to the ‘wine tasting waddle’ of eight wine tastings and two hours of live entertainment. Plus you get a special medal for your efforts—it’s probably to reward your running prowess, but we think it’s more for your ability to knock back a bottle of vino AMIRITE LADIES.
It all goes down this Saturday afternoon at the Adina Vineyard in Lovedale, deep in Hunter Vaz wine country.
