Get out your diaries, because not only is Good Food Month actually happening this year, it’s bringing Alanna Sapwell back to Brisbane, with her pop-up restaurant Esmay taking over Baja in the Valley for two nights only next month.
It’s been a while since we’ve been able to enjoy Sapwell’s creative cooking, with Arc Dining having closed its doors back in March and Noosa being the lucky locale that got to enjoy her pop-up restaurant over the last three months. But now, we can finally sit down to the Esmay experience that everyone has been talking about recently, without having to book a weekend on the Sunshine Coast.
On Sunday 22 November and Monday 23 November, Sapwell will take over the kitchen at Baja to create a multi-course feast with matched wines dedicated to showcasing and celebrating the best regional produce around. While the menu hasn’t been announced yet, you can expect a good dash of comfort-cooking and a twist of nostalgia, as you’ll always find on Sapwell’s menus.
Tickets to the lunch and dinner are $120pp, and you can expect them to get snapped up uber fast, so you may want to jump on and grab yours immediately. Because who knows when Esmay will be popping up again…
