If you’ve been living under a rock, you might have missed the brouhaha that ensued when The Story Bridge announced it was throwing an epic 75th anniversary celebration, the likes of which Brisbane has never experienced before. And today the second round of tickets are up for grabs!
On Sunday 5 July the Story Bridge is playing host an epic laneway party, transforming into an outdoor festival, opening its lanes to 100 Eat Street Markets food and beverage vendors (including Eat Street faves Hungarian Langos and Miss Claude’s Crepes), four licensed bars (armed by the Story Bridge Hotel), and four performance stages, with one stage hosting performers from the QUBE effect.
The event has already proved immensely popular—25,000 earlybird tickets were reserved within 25 minutes. Luckily, for those of us that are a little slow off the mark, there are a further 35,000 tickets up for grabs at 6pm on June 1. And best believe we’ll be on the ball this time around. Enjoying the Story Bridge from the riverside is so last year.
Eat Street Markets’ John Stainton described the event as “the party to end all parties”. This, coming from a man who throws Brisbane’s best weekly food fest, is news to our greedy ears. Most Eat Street vendors will be in attendance, and they’ll be tweaking their menus for optimal standing-and-eating, ideal for chowing down as your wander through the space.
