Are you a bit rusty on the ol’ love scene? Run out of ideas how to treat your better half when it comes to date night? We gotchu!

Whether it’s a new summer love, or trying to bring back the spark, a date with mates or just a solo fling, we’re helping you out with a handful of sweet outdoor date ideas on the Gold Coast.

As the name suggests, this is not a date for the faint hearted. If you are feeling adventurous and want to show your date you’re more than just brawn or beauty, challenge them to a climb up Mount Warning to watch the sunrise. If the 3:30 am wake up doesn’t look good on either of you (and we aren’t promising it will), we guarantee the view at the top will make up for it.

If you’re into getting a bit wet—excuse moi, get yo’ mind outta the gutter—then take a trip to Cedar Creek Falls at Mount Tamborine. Picnic paradise awaits with plenty of romantic spots to set up a blanket paired with your fave dips and crackers. The views never fail to impress either, with the creek located just metres from three huge waterfalls and surrounded by countless walking tracks. If you are not that organised looking for something a bit more cool, calm and collected, you can never go wrong with a classic fish ‘n’ chips sesh on Burleigh Hill.

A festival every goddamn weekend? Count. Us. In. The buzzing entertainment precinct that is NightQuarter comes to life from 4pm to 10pm every Friday and Saturday, emerging as a perfect we’re-not-yet-ready-for-solo-time date option. Spoilt for choice would be an understatement, with this northern Gold Coast gem boasting over 120 stalls that are creatively housed inside up-cycled shipping containers. Think arts and crafts, up-and-coming fashion and homeware designers, live music from renowned artists, and of course, the feast of delicious eats from street food vendors and mini restaurants. Better yet, even if your wallet is tight you can still afford to be a baller and shout your date dinner. Thank us (and your relationship status) later.

Plan a date where you can work on your tan too—multi tasking at its finest? Tick. SUPing has skyrocketed into water sport fame in recent years, as it is easy, relaxing and oh-so-sexy. Pre plan so your date doesn’t turn into an oar-deal (see what we did there?!) and with one of these awesome spots to paddle board on the Gold Coast. Word of warning, this date is probably best avoided if you are hopelessly uncoordinated or it will backfire horribly.

Win your date over with a beer in one hand and bowling ball in the other. Some of the Gold Coast’s best beer gardens (better known as lawn bowling clubs) are situated at Tugun, Southport, and Mermaid Beach. Our top pick for a fun Sunday arvo would have to be barefoot bowls at Burleigh Heads Bowls Club. Know someone else on the dating scene? Why not double date to make for more competition or, if you are a single pringle, don’t worry; it’s the perfect spot to mingle! It’s as cheap as chips too at only $5 per person, with live entertainment included. Meet you there?

Ice cream is always a winner when it comes to outdoor dates, because yum. ‘Nuff said? Woo your lover with a double scoop from Mermaid Beach’s adorable new gelataria, Heven-ya or any one of these top spots on the Gold Coast.

With the Gold Coast boasting warm weather almost 365 days of the year, why not make the most of it? Justin Lane’s rooftop oozes trendy vibes and a delicious Italian menu that could lead to a lady and the tramp moment—just sayin’. Or, if you want something even fancier, head to Rick Shores where your date will be tripping over themselves to get the best angle of that beautiful ocean view for Insti. If this doesn’t bump you into second date status, then we don’t know what will!

We all just want a stable relationship, right? Then why not saddle up with Numinbah Valley Adventure Trails and join a guided tour through the Gold Coast Hinterland on horseback. It’s the picture-perfect way to explore what our magical city’s backyard has to offer in a different kind of way and it’ll make you both all giddy inside.

If you’ve hit the sleepover stage (high five!), then why not try it out under the stars? Nightfall Wilderness Camp offers intimate safari glamping, where less is more. Okay, who are we kidding? This is one high-rolling, nek-level date! This outdoor date option has the ultimate wow factor and redefines luxury through architect-inspired, handcrafted permanent tents that are stocked with organic cuisine and give the relaxed feeling of staying with old friends. We know this crazy life can get pretty hectic, so if you are looking to disconnect and spend some private time with your main squeeze, then check in with Nightfall for one of the finest glamping experiences in Australia.

Show your date how cultured you are on an escorted daytrip with Mount Tamborine Wine Tasting Tours, because life’s too short to drink cheap, mass-produced vino. Right? Explore the Gold Coast wine trail while treating your taste buds to boutique-crafted cheeses and sippin’ on award-winning local wines. Or, if you want to be totally ballin’, pre-book for a couple’s weekend getaway to ensure a personalised, pampered experience with the very best attention at every cellar and door. Play your cards right and we guarantee your partner will be saying brie mine by the end of the trip!
