10 Of Our Favourite Perth City Sunday Sessions

By Chloe Sputore
4th Oct 2017

Perth city has it going on these days, with a new underground foodie precinct, another ramen joint popping up every other weekend and plenty of spring activities to keep you busy right the way through to summer.

But it doesn’t end there. We’ve partnered up with the City of Perth to bring you 10 of our favourite Perth city Sunday sessions, so you can keep the good times rolling into the week ahead.

Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!

#1 The Standard

Sundays are best spent at The Standard, especially with one of their Lazy Susan specials in front of you and a cocktail in hand. $40 will get you a selection of the chef’s favourite dishes designed to be shared among four. Get down there every Sunday to get your hands on this seriously good value!

#2 Lot Twenty

Lot Twenty serves up a whole lot of raclette cheese with their bevvies on Sundays, but only until 29 October, so you’re going to want to get there quick smart. Throw in a jug of Pimms or summer sangria and you have yourself one helluva Sunday sesh.

Mechanics Institute

#3 Mechanics Institute

Mechanics Institute is all about the cocktails, craft beer and artisan wine, oh and epic Bloody Marys. A hangover cure-all, these bad boys are served in a big jar and topped with a Flipside Burger garnish. Burgers + booze = the best way to round out your weekend.

#4 Frisk. Small Bar

If gin’s your drink of choice, Frisk. Small Bar is the only place to go on a Sunday. They’ve got almost 100 different types on their menu, as well as sloe gin, gin cocktails, scotch, whiskey, beer and rum. Oh and did we mention you can order loaded chips and hot dogs from Frank’d?

The Aviary

#5 The Aviary

Go for the boozy brunch and stay on for the winning Sunday session at The Aviary. Pretend you live in Cottesloe and order The Golden Triangle with Ketel One Citroen, Chambord, passionfruit and lemon, or get That Freo Feeling with some sloe gin, Pimm’s No 1, lemon and ginger beer, either way you’re in for a good time!

#6 Petition Beer Corner

After more of a refined Sunday sesh? Look no further than Petition Beer Corner. On top of their 18 beers on tap they’re serving French onion crème potato crisps, fried lamb ribs with tahini yoghurt and spiced pine nuts and a really delicious black angus cheeseburger loaded with BBQ bacon, pickles and onion rings.

#7 Alfred’s Pizzeria. Small Bar

With pizza, alcohol and rock ‘n’ roll, every Sunday spent at Alfred’s Pizzeria. Small Bar is a good one. One whiff of the pizza and your hunger levels will go through the roof, luckily you can get the stuff by the slice so no need to limit yourself to just one flavour!

#8 The Stables Bar

Quit horsing around and head to The Stables Bar for your next Sunday session. They’ve got an all day grazing menu that’s perfect for Sunday nibbling and some lip-smackingly good cocktail creations. We love the Spritz Me Up with Brockmans Gin, blood orange, elderflower and prosecco.

Northbridge Brewing Co

#9 Northbridge Brewing Co

If there’s one thing we can say for sure about Northbridge Brewing Co, it’s that their Sunday sesh game is strong! Whether you grab a Beerland tasting tray or an Aperol Spritz, you’ll be in good hands here. Round up the gang, grab a drink or two and chill out for a while before you make your way to the ping pong tables in the Northbridge Piazza for a game or two!

#10 Oh Hey WA Sunday Sesh Stroll

When Sunday rolls around and you need to get your booty moving, there is no better way to spend it than with Oh Hey WA on a Sunday session stroll. Kicking off from the cactus in Forrest Place, the tour costs $30 and includes a chilled out walk through Perth’s streets and laneways and you’ll learn all about Perth’s culture, art and nightlife. Oh, and you get to have a couple of drinks along the way, of course.
