3 Epic Events For People Who Love Wine And Food

As far as we’re concerned, wine, food and air are all that’s needed to live a good life. Okay, maybe water too if we’re being real. And this year, you will be living life exceptionally well if you get your butt along to these three epic wine and food events that are popping up in our beautiful city.

From watching the sunset with wine in hand down at Scarborough to breathing in the fresh spring air and shaking off your winter woes in Subiaco, there are plenty of wines to taste, eats to devour and bottles to buy to keep your wine cellar (aka the cupboard above the fridge) well stocked into 2019.

iCals and credit cards at the ready!

#1 Sip Wine And Watch The Sunset In Scarbs

Brighton Reserve, Scarborough Beach, 17 & 18 February

These days you can’t get us away from Scarborough (thanks to the brand spanking new beachside pool) and this February there is no reason to leave thanks to Sunset Wine, the ultimate seaside event for Perth winos. Bask in the glorious summer rays as you hop from the Sunset Balcony to the Summer Sparkling Bar and back again, enjoying glass after glass of pinot, rosé, shiraz and pét-nat. There’ll also be craft beers, ciders and spirits to enjoy, as well as gourmet eats from Smokies Barbecue, Tapasman and Shak Shuka, as well as live music from Felony Trio to keep you happy all night long. A Plumm Tasting Glass (available for pre-purchase or at the gate) will get you complimentary tastings and if you find a drop you love you can pick up some bottles for your wine fridge* at home. (*A girl can dream?) Tickets start at $26 and are cheaper if you pre-purchase, book here!

#2 Chase Away The Winter Blues At City Wine

Urban Orchard, Perth Cultural Centre, 8 & 9 June

A glass of wine can fix just about anything, especially the winter blues, which is why we’ve locked away June 8 and 9 in our iCals to kick the rainy season off on the right foot at City Wine. The Urban Orchard will transform into an undercover wine tasting wonderland as you try, buy and collect boutique vino for your collection from the best WA winemakers. Feast on pizza goodness from Two Queens Woodfired Street Food, The Turkish Saj’s gozlemes and Tapas Man's Spanish magic as you kick back in the Garden Courtyard or Skyline Terrace with your besties and bop your head to the live music from Hart Trio and The Prefix. Winter hibernation can commence post 9 June as far as we are concerned. Book here!

City Wine

#3 Unwind With Wine And Food This Spring

Market Square Park, Subiaco, 27 & 28 October

If tasting from more than 40 wineries in one day is on your bucket list, UnWined Subiaco is the event for you! The event will showcase the best of the best drops from local wine producers which can all be enjoyed from your classy Plumm souvenir wine glass or stored safely in your dedicated wine locker until it’s time to catch an Uber home (safety first, people). Grab a picnic blanket and chill out on the lawn all afternoon, or if you prefer the finer things in life, purchase a ticket to the Club Lounge which will get you access to a private bar, gourmet BBQ and a VIP restroom (ooh la la). There’ll be grape fun happening in the wine theatre, plus live music and street-style food from the likes of Gyoza Joint, The Turkish Saj and Summer 1954 to nosh on all day long. What on Earth are you waiting for? Book here!
