George Street Quarters | The Verdict

It’s hard not to fall in love with Freo when you’re sitting at a table on George Street in the gorgeous Autumn sunshine tucking into a hearty brekky.

And there’s not too many better places to do that than George Street Quarters.

Freshly renovated at the end of last year and now an all-in-one cafe, restaurant and gourmet grocer (they sell homewares too!), George Street Quarters is one of a bunch of top-quality cafes and restaurants that have made this neighbourhood one of the best in Perth.

With the crew here dedicated to providing speciality coffee, eats and produce, while creating a friendly, community-focused vibe, it’s also a spot bustling with hungry customers, who flop onto the beautiful communal timber tables, wander the grocery section or if they’re lucky, nab a table out on the street.

The fit out is industrial meets farmhouse chic and it just works. The place feels stylish and modern, but still comfortable and relaxed. It’s just the sort of place you could sit with your bestie over brunch (perhaps plotting how you can move to East Freo?), take your Mum for lunch or take your man (or lady!) for a date night.

An all-day breakfast is always a wonderful thing but when it’s bursting with options to suit the healthy, the hungry and the hungover, it is even better.

The coconut and pandan chia pudding with seasonal fruit, coconut blossom syrup and puffed wild rice is every bit as tasty as it is pretty, and it’s a cafe fave alongside the crab egg-white omelette, classic avo smash and the homemade pancakes with butterscotch, bacon and caramelised banana. The Crema coffee is unsurprisingly strong and delicious.

Lunch and dinner continue the delicious but slightly unconventional route with plenty of tasty and sophisticated goodness for seafood lovers, meat lovers and vego’s alike. They also do a bangin’ burger night on a Sunday.

And that’s what makes this spot so special. No mater what time of the day, no matter what you feel like, George Street Quarters has you covered.

If you’re looking for a laidback weekend haunt, it could just become your new fave hangout.
