Good For The Gram | Instagram Is Bringing Back Chronological Order In Your Feed

By Ben Tyers - 23 Mar 2018

That Zuckerberg character, usually everyone is getting stuck into him for jamming up your news feeds with rubbish, influencing elections, and letting your data get breached—but every now and then he goes and does something right.

In a blog post this morning Instagram announced a couple of changes that will affect your feed going forward that they say will “give you more control over your feed and ensure the posts you see are timely”.

So what the bloody hell does that actually mean?

Well, it would appear that newer posts will be more likely to appear first in your feed—we’ll take their word on it for now—and another change will allow you to hit a “New Posts” button that will let you refresh the app rather than it happening automatically and you being bumped back to the top.

So, while it’s not a return to the old-school tradish chronological feed that we all knew and loved, at least it’s a step in the right direction.
