If you're feeling the heat, then it's time for some serious, splashy fun. Perth’s Outback Splash has just landed a cool new pop-up Summer Bar, presented by the guys at Gage Roads.

Opening this week, The Gage Roads Summer Bar will provide plenty of chilled vibes and good brews all summer long at this much-loved waterpark right near the Swan Valley. Head into the large timber cabana, grab a cold one, and take a seat on the pallet furniture or bean bags and watch as adventure seekers take on the epic six-storey water slide tower.

Overlooking the park’s ground-level attractions, the six-storey tower is just one of the new attractions added last season and features almost half a kilometre (489 metres) of state-of-the-art fibreglass waterslides.

Last year also saw two new raft slides (‘The Wall’ and ‘Blackout’) added to the park, an enclosed golden speed slide (‘Gold Rush’), and if that doesn’t get your adrenaline pumping, there’s also Western Australia’s fastest body slide. Aptly named 'The Wedgie’, the body slide lets riders plunge downward at speeds of up to 75km/hour. (We suggest you wear a very, um, secure swimsuit for that last one.)

If you’re too scared to brave the slides, you can always just hunker down at the Summer Bar for the day. There’ll be plenty of drinks to keep you cool, including Gage Roads faves like Single Fin, Atomic Pale, Hello Sunshine Cider and Matsos Ginger Beer. And when you get hungry The Burger Bar and Snack Shack has you covered with plenty of summer-appropriate bites.

If you’re thinking drinking and water sliding surely can’t be safe, don’t worry. With the transition to a licensed venue, the park has worked with the Department of Racing, Gaming and Liquor, the State Health Department, and Royal Life Saving to ensure the Summer Bar serves alcohol safely and responsibly and has also introduced ‘glass-free’ restrictions.

With the Tonkin Highway extension now complete, Perth’s Outback Splash (located in Bullsbrook) is only 30 minutes from Perth city and 15 minutes from Joondalup, so it’s even easier to get out for a fun-filled day.

Whether you’re down for the slides, or prefer to just chill in the bar, we’ll see you there.
