Where’s your favourite spot for brekky?
MOD cafe in Fremantle. It’s like a home away from home. Amazing service, great food and just all around good vibes coming out of the team here. Their new bento bowl is wicked—you must add the buttermilk chicken.
How about a long lunch with mates?
Sauma in Northbridge. Indian food is a guilty pleasure of mine and when given the chance Sauma is my jam. The goat curry or banana leaf fish are off the chain.
Canteen Pizza in Cottesloe. Great pizza, an epic wine list, faultless service. Ancient grain salad and nduja, I can’t go without ordering these beauties.
What about coffee?
Jackie Chan once said “Coffee is a language in itself”, I guess it’s just a language I’ve chosen not to learn.
Who is inspiring you right now?
My go-to sources for inspiration are David Chang and his love for big banging flavoured dishes, and Lennox Hastie and his team from Firedoor in Sydney. They’re killing it with epic Insta feeds and stories that show precision in cooking with fire.
Your favourite ingredient to cook with?
Soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chilli—just the basics but so adaptable to so many dishes.
Where can we find Perth's best local produce?
Growers Green Market in South Freo is a go-to for me as it’s close to home and has some amazing organic produce.
