Twenty five words. That's how many words it takes to get yourself a once in a lifetime travel opportunity in a seriously unique competition currently running over at Microsoft Surface. Move over cheap flights to Bali—this series of ‘Anything But Ordinary’ experiences is going to have you packing your bag quick smart.

The Microsoft Surface crew have scoured Australia and New Zealand to hunt down the most extraordinary, left-of-centre destinations they could find for some lucky prize winners—and you’ll be blown away with what they’ve found. The team say that they’ve designed the Anything But Ordinary series to be truly unexpected and surprising—the perfect backdrop to discovering their new devices, which winners will have the opportunity to do.

Ever wondered what it would be like to adventure through the Western Australian desert and peer into the Wolfe Creek Meteor Crater? Sleep a night in an idyllic cabin perched on a hilltop on New Zealand’s mesmerising Fox Glacier? Or perhaps glamping on the crystal-white salt plains of South Australia’s Lake Gairdner takes your fancy?

If you dare, one of these amazing experiences could be yours—accommodation and transfer costs included and all. How you ask? That brings us back to those twenty five words. To enter the competition, punters must come up with twenty five words on what makes themselves ‘anything but ordinary’. Whether you’re an intrepid traveller who’s done marathons on Antarctica or a soul-searcher who motorcycles across deserts, a hiker, a climber, a content creator or just an all-round travel junkie, we’re pretty sure you’re going to want to get in on this one.

The first experience, Fox Glacier, takes place at the end of this month—so you’ve only got a few more days to enter if you want to find yourself in an impenetrable wonderland of blue ice-caves or helicoptering over these dramatic ice formations. The next trip hits in early December, as the epic journey out to the Wolfe Creek Crater commences, traversing parts of Western Australia rarely seen. The final journey offers a bit more time to come up with those twenty five resounding words—February or March will see lucky winners glamping atop an expansive salt desert in South Australia, completely isolated and surrounded only by open white vistas.

Spaces are seriously limited, so it’s time to roll up your sleeves and figure out how to communicate your awesomeness, folks. Just head to Microsoft Surface’s Facebook Page and click on the pinned post to enter. Hop to it!

Just want to go glamping on your own dime? As of early 2019, you'll be able to glamp on the Bolivian salt flats.
