Northsiders rejoice! Not only do you have a brand new Sydney café in Bay Ten Espresso, you've got one that serves a mean coffee that might just make it onto the list of best coffees in North Sydney.
Sharing a space with The Body Mechanics, a specialist bike fit and physio studio, Bay Ten Espresso is conveniently (and strategically) located next to the green cycle lane that paves the way for over 1,500 bridge crossing cyclists each morning.
Opening only two weeks ago, Bay Ten Espresso has already garnered itself a following among local dwellers and North Sydney workers alike, not to mention the happy cyclists that can grab a coffee on the go, or while having their wheels tended to.
For lovers of all things robust and smooth, there is a good variety of coffee options to keep you ooh-ing and ahh-ing. Barista and owner Nathan Devlin has spent years travelling the world and learning the art of coffee, so be sure to try one of his personal blends. As the weather heats up, the refreshing 16 hour cold brew served over ice is just the thing you need on a humid morning when hot milk just isn't going to do the trick.
The menu is short but sweet (and savoury), and Devlin has adopted the farm-to-plate stance that really shines through. On-the-go with a rumbling tummy? Grab a coffee and a piece of toast or some of Bay Ten's homemade granola. If you're not in a hurry, the industrial fit out is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning or afternoon, with plenty of light streaming through the massive window wall. A selection of sandwiches will satisfy any of your lunchtime hankerings, the vego with grilled zucchini, eggplant, capsicum, crumbled goat's feta and fresh rocket is a winner and will only set you back $10.
When your sweet tooth comes a'calling (and it will) the carrot cake and lemon tart will make you forget your troubles in one swift and delicious swoop.
Bay Ten Espresso is a welcome addition to Sydney's café scene and we predict many a happy and caffeined-up cyclist will be gracing this warehouse space in the near future.
