Folks, October 31st is once again fast approaching, meaning it's time to dust off that adorably dorky pumpkin suit, get out your wicked witch outfit or to once again wear that 'scary' outfit kept specifically for this annual auspicious evening, Mean Girls style. Still stuck for costume inspiration? Check out our Halloween costume ideas right here.
Even if we may have sadly outgrown (boo) the typical trick or treat door knocking for free candy activities, there's still a tonne of Halloween parties in Sydney which are sure to be spooktacular. We've lined up the coolest and scariest list of Halloween parties for adults only and some family friendly events too. People, don those costumes, cos it's time to get freaky!
Halloscream | Luna Park
Sydney's iconic Luna Park in collaboration with Camp Quality Australia is host to the Halloscream spectacular and will feature a weekend of live performances, dress ups, activities and surprise guests! Headlining the event will be the chart topping duo and judges from The Voice, Joel and Benji Madden as well as two-time Aria number one artist, Taylor Henderson. A specially produced light show will illuminate Luna Park's historic architecture in homage to Mexico's "Dia de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead) and in a world-first partnership with film giant, Twentieth Century Fox, Luna Park will be the host of The Maze Runner Adventure – Live! With fancy dress prizes, trick or treating activities, scary rides, Day of the Dead parades, face painting and food and drink pop up stations this waterfront landmark is set to become one of the coolest, scariest stomping grounds for all monsters, big and small!

Nightmare On Stanley Street | Rupert & Ruby
Get started early on the Halloween festivities by celebrating the Devil's Night (Thursday 30th October) by entering into your worst Nightmare on Stanley Street. IconPark's crowd-funded Rupert & Ruby have united the Stanley Street vendors into a number of scary horror scenes most definitely not for the faint hearted! The party will kick off at a haunted mental institution, otherwise known as Kubrick's bar, themed dishes and drinks in the company of The Addams Family will be the go at Rupert & Ruby's, whilst the vintage style Hazy Rose will be where the party kicks on late into the night with their 'Return of the Titanic'. Best-dressed prizes will be up for grabs as will be apple bobbing and pin the tail on the suckling pig (hope we get to eat it too!)!

Halloween Under The Sea | Sea Life Sydney Aquarium
HIJINKS has once again teamed up with Sea Life Sydney Aquarium to bring you an underwater night of fun and fright! The quantity of blood chilling activities in store has us barely able to contain our excitement. Watch the magician Manik Jones' voodoo magic tricks, Legs 11.11 Victorian ghost performance, the haunting circlesque show or see the floating heads theatre – the hardest decision will be working out who you'll see first! Get your scary on with the Frankenstein makeover workshop and some gruesome face painting to make sure we fit right in! Spending the evening hanging out under the eerie glass tanks with sharks, penguins and dugongs casually floating overhead, tuck into some classy cocktails at the myriad of pop up bars and learn a bit along the way about marine conservation.

Put on your masks, hop on that broomstick and creep through the cobwebs for this freaky festivity!

Sydney Zombie Walk
Looking way too similar to scenes from Zombieland, the last five years have seen a couple of thousand Sydneysiders dragging their terrifyingly realistic rotting limbs through our city center for Sydney's Zombie Walk. This event is free to all and is in support of The Brain Foundation so there's no excuse to not get out there and participate! Help this charity's world-class research on neurological disorders, brain diseases and injuries and be sure to dress up like a zombie straight out of your worst nightmare with dark eyes, pale skin and lots of fake blood! Top tip: from the zombie walk creators; add a little red food dye into chocolate sauce to make surprisingly realistic blood (it's tasty too)! So get creative zombies, can't wait to see you all out there!
When: Saturday 1st November from 3pm
Halloween International | Ivy
Taking over the entire Ivy complex this year is Halloween International's 'A New Beginning'. Both Southern Comfort and Finlandia Vodka have voted this massive party as one of the best in the world where DJs will be playing all night across The Ivy, including the Pool Club, Changeroom and The Den. Get involved in the frightening fun and ghoulish games on offer and be in with a chilling chance to pick up over $10,000 worth of prizes! Better yet, free international drink sampling at the 'international crawl' will transport you to all four corners of the world! Whoever said Halloween was all bubble, bubble, toil and trouble clearly hadn't been to Halloween at The Ivy – let the good times start rollin'!
