Brisbane is turning things up notch this March with some pretty epic events popping up. It was tricky narrowing the list down, but we got it done. Never complain about boredom again with this month’s offering of the best things to do in Brisbane:
#1 Moonlight Cinema
As the end of summer approaches, so too does the end of the Moonlight Cinema. Fret not though, we’ve put together a handy lil’ guide of what to watch so you can save time picking a movie, and spending more time kicking back.

When: Until the 6th of March
While technically not in Brisbane (you can get to the GC quicker than you can get from the Northside to the Southside in traffic, so we’re counting it as Brisbane) Bleach*Festival kicks off this month with a line up of artistic world premiers and creativity you’re gonna want to make a trip to the coast for.

#3 2015 National Self Portrait Prize
Soz to disappoint but this is in fact, not a selfie portrait prize. Held once every two years, by The University of Queensland, the winner receives a $50,000 prize. Plus, submissions are invitation only. Exclusive. The National Self Portrait Prize exhibition finishes up on the 13th so get your skates on people.

Beer lovers rejoice, Brewsvegas has arrived. The week-long love fest dedicated to all things beer is kicking off on the 11th with events like Laneway Ale Trail, A Bull In A Cheese Shop, Pints For Paws and other free fabulousness.

#5 World Science Festival at GOMA
In a move sure to set off all our worst nightmares, GOMA is screening a bunch of movies that delve into the consequences of living with computer technology in Mind vs. Machine, Expect Her, The Matrix, Blade Runner and a whole lot of freaking out about robots.
When: March 9 – March 13
#6 TEDX 16 Dream Opening Night New Farm Cinemas
For the first time, the public are invited to check out TED’s annual conference, live. Yay. Nights out that make you smarter. As per, things are pretty hush hush, so the exact details will remain a surprise until it screens.

#7 Bluewater Festival
The Shorncliffe Pier is officially re-opening! Celebrate the momentous occasion with food trucks, epic views of the Brisbane-Gladstone Yacht Race. The Thursday night will play host to fireworks, market stalls, and free entertainment.

#8 International Women's Day
It’s International Women’s Day this month, and that means bulk events celebrating chicks and everything they’ve done (read: a lot.) There’s a whole bunch of stuff on.

#9 Build Your City LEGO Workshop
Get the whole fam involved as you create Brisbane’s newest monument from LEGO. What’s better than free fun with LEGO and the chance to win $270? Nothing.

#10 Brisbane Business Chicks Breakfast With Turia Pitt
You’re probably familiar with Turia’s story already, but you’ll probs want to hear it in person anyway because it’s just so amazing.
