Calling all sweet tooths! The Sydney dessert masters of KOI Dessert Bar fame are heading over the border to the Sunshine State for one weekend only, and if you’ve never had the chance to smash one of their gloriously indulgent sweet treats, then you need to get down to their stall at Regional Flavours as soon as possible.
That’s right, the KOI crew will be headlining the foodie line up at South Bank’s epic food and wine festival on 20 and 21 July. They’ll be slinging glossy creations like their infamous ‘Nomtella’, which combines espresso mousse, salted caramel and a brownie base in one decadent dome. Plenty more favourites from the iconic Sydney dessert bar will also be on the menu, so maybe don’t fill up on all that cheese and street food elsewhere in the festival, yeah?
For anyone keen to learn the tricks of the dessert trade, Koi owner and ex-MasterChef contestant Reynold Poernomo will be presenting a how to on his decadent Queensland mango mousse paired with sweet almond sable, tarty yuzu curd and chocolate curl at the Main Stage on Sunday 21 July from 10.45am. Head along for the demo so that when the whole crew pack up and scarper back to Sydney you can console yourself by whipping up the dessert for yourself at home.
Ready for the sugar coma? Regional Flavours is happening all weekend on 20 and 21 July, and you can get all the details here—find KOI amongst the stalls that will be lining Grey Street.
