Yes, you heard right. Brisbane is being taken over by a ‘uge beer, cider, food and ping pong festival. What did we do to deserve this?! Look, we don’t know either, but we’re going to just roll with it, because this is potentially the best news in well…ever.
It’s called Beer InCider Experience, and Brisbane-based beer lovers will be well acquainted with the festival, since it’s now in its fifth year. It’s all going down at the Brisbane Showgrounds on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 September.
This year is set to be their best yet. With over 60 breweries and cideries, a killer music line up, and ridiculously delicious food, a ping pong arena (for. real.) and more, you’re going to want to block out both days in your diary right now.
Music wise, you can prep your ears for The Smith Street Band, The Jungle Giants, Tired Lion, Mallrat and a whole heap more. Plus, The Smith Street Band have teamed up with Fixation Brewing and the Beer InCider Experience to create their own beer for the occasion, named The Lee Hartney Experience. You can expect a hoppy IPA that pays homage to The Smith Street Band and Fixation Brewing's locale, Smith Street in Collingwood, Melbourne.
If you’re a true beer lover, you can even chat to the brewers in person and ask them every question you’ve ever had about their beer at the Brewer Stage presented by Aether Brewing, and around the traps, too!
Foodies will have the time of their lives with all of your fave food trucks heading down. Beer InCider has wrangled up some exclusives, too, like pop-ups from The Alliance Hotel, Hellmouth Diner, and Tippler's Tap. And yes, there will be lobster bug rolls.
Grab your ticket now to score free public transport to and from the festival, plus a reusable festival cup! Single day tickets start from just $40 plus booking fee, and you can score a discount when you book in a group of seven or more. Naturally, the experience is strictly 18+.
We’re most excited about the ping pong arena though, to be honest. Bring it on, Brisbane.
P.S. Don’t worry, you can also find wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and water too.
