A handful of Brisbane’s most sought-after dining and drinking haunts have popped up in the party ‘burb in recent months, reshaping (and importantly, rejuvenating) an area of Brisbane known for bar-hopping and hangovers into a labyrinth of small independents doing their bit for our city’s night life.
We hate to point out the obvious but the Valley’s clearly having a bit of a moment again.
In addition to Little Valley, Finney’s Isle, B. Lucky & Sons, and Honto, just to name a famous few, now it seems Fortitude Valley is set to get a slashie of the dining/drinking variety; a gastro-pub if we dare utter the words... Enter, Beirne Lane; Brisbane’s newest drinking den from the team that brought us the CBD's Isles Lane.
First constructed in 1902, the heritage-listed T.C. Beirne building has, and always will be, “the House of the People.” Dine, drink, dance in the place that never closes and see how Beirne Lane breathes life back into the building when we open in Fortitude Valley this November. #beirnelane #comingsoon
Situated in the historic T.C Beirne Building down the Brunswick St Mall, Beirne Lane is set to open in early November, just in time for the warm weather when we’re all on a continuous loop (read: desperate search) for frosty bevvies and cheap-but-good nosh.
Speaking of, Beirne Lane’s food is a nod to Mr, T.C Berine himself, featuring some hearty Irish classics alongside Japanese bar snacks, even featuring a menu dedicated to the humble katsu sando (he loved the land of the rising sun, apparently). On the drink agenda, you’ll find the usual classics of local craft brews and wines, alongside some punchy little cocktail numbers.
A mix of indoor and outdoor spaces (yes, we’re hanging out for a new beer garden), we’re promised the two-storey space will accommodate those after a casual bite to eat, and those who want to party on into the small hours.
Given it’s a slippery slope now until the festive season comes knocking, we’re all but certain Beirne Lane will feature heavily on your seasonal bar hop hit-list.
