These Are The Best Events To Hit Up This February

Welcome to February; the shortest month and most jam-packed month of the year. Regardless of the time restraints the next 28 days put upon our social lives, it’s even more important this month to soak up all the events in Brisbane. 

From the Lunar New Year to Laneway Festival, these are all the events in Brisbane you need to hit up this February. 

Laneway Festival

To kick off the February music scene, we have St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival which will be taking place on the first Saturday of the month. Get tickets to watch old faves like Gang of Youths and fresh talent from all around the world performing at the festival this year.

RNB Vine Days

Need to get your RNB fix? It’s been a while, but Nelly is back in Brisbane and he will be hitting up RNB Vine Days with a worthy lineup featuring Craig David, All Saints, Amerie, Yo! Mafia, and more. Get tickets to start your February listening to some of the most classic tunes of all time live.

Super Bowl LIII Party

Moving right on through to the first Monday of the month, we have the biggest event to hit our gridiron-loving allies across the sea, The Super Bowl. If you can wrangle a day off work to partake in the football watching festivities, make your way to Welcome To Bowen Hills where they will be screening the game on their massive projector. If not for the game just come for the wings, waffles, Budweisers, and half-time show.

Chinese New Year in The Lanes

For those of you who are unaware, the biggest event on the Chinese calendar is coming up this month and it calls for plenty of celebrating. The Lanes will be holding their own Lunar New Year celebrations on the 9thof February that is definitely worth the ticket price. Explore the laneways for delicious drinks and morsels and enjoy the show as the Chinese Dragon dance makes its way from California Lane through to the Valley.

Dumpling Day 2019

Love a good dumpling? Get your fill at this year’s dumpling day festival! We’re talking steamed, fried, boiled, and baked dumplings from all across the world, each with their own distinct style and flavour and all absolutely delicious. There will also be workshops throughout the day so that you can take the art of dumplings home with you and practice it on a daily basis, so really what you’re getting here is a lifetime of dumpling happiness. You’re welcome.

Tom Gleeson | Joy

Speaking of happiness, I think we can all agree that Australia’s beloved comic hero Tom Gleeson is an expert on the subject. Book to see his live show as he delves into the joys of his daily life. Rumour has it he actually cracks a smile in this one, so get tickets if you don’t want to miss that rare phenomenon.

FIVE + S Club 3 + Big Brovaz + G.R.L.

Celebrate the halfway point of the month with a trip down memory lane at Eatons Hill Hotel. They will be fronting an impressive lineup of gems from the naughties including the remaining members of S club, the original inspiration for 5 Rings, Bog Brovas (we see you Ariana) and the legends themselves, Five. If that’s not ringing any bells just rewatch the film clip to Keep On Movin’ and you will be flooded with flashbacks of frosted tips and eyebrow piercings.

Summer Crush Pool Party

Feeling single and ready to mingle? Skip the drag that is Valentine's day and celebrate your solo life at W Brisbane’s Summer Crush Pool Party. The evening will take place on their WET Deck and be overflowing with Chandon S cocktails, great tunes from live guest DJs, and inflatable flamingos. Have a dip in the pool, grab some Aussie barbecue, and you might even find a February fling.

The Beer Run

Love beer and running? You are a rare breed and it is time to join your brethren in a 5k Beer Run. The premise is pretty simple, it’s a 5k run stopping at 5 local breweries on the way to grab a cheeky brew to fuel your journey forward. Tickets include a medal that doubles as a beer opener, a beer bib, a beer at each stop, and some goodies at the finish line.

Maroon 5 Red Pill Blues Tour

Whether you love them for Sugar, the Moves Like Jagger era, or are an OG fan from their This Love days, Maroon 5 has an undeniably impressive portfolio that they will be showing off this month in Brisbane. Buy tickets to their live concert to see them and their special guest CXLOE perform onstage together at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.

Brisbane Comedy Festival

One of the biggest events that will be hitting Brisbane this month is the annual Brisbane Comedy Festival presented by Brisbane Powerhouse. This year there will be plenty of new comics as well as old faithfuls hitting Brisbane stages to give you the giggles for a full month starting on the last Friday of February.

Brisbane’s Beer Fest

If you have a deep love for lager, make sure you don’t miss out on the biggest beer festival in Queensland, the Brisbane Beer Fest. Held at Eaton’s Hill Hotel on the last Saturday of February, this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever before with over 130 beers and ciders to try alongside live tunes, DJs, food trucks, giveaways, contests, and more.

Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland

Just slipping into our February events list is a touch of the finer things with The Australian Ballet’s performance of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. This one is perfect for those new to the ballet as it follows Lewis Carroll’s classic story down rabbit holes, through tea parties and flower beds, and right into the Queen of Heart’s garden.
