We’re heading into the cooler months and we all know what that means; plenty of delicious food and drink-focused events to keep us warm until spring. As well as plenty of quality eats, the Brisbane events line up is bringing us festivals every weekend, iconic live performances, grand balls, parties, and more.

These are the best events to hit up this month in Brisbane.

Get Ringside At The Inaugural Fight Night At Box Cargo

Tickets are selling out fast to the trendy Brisbane watering hole X Cargo’s first ever fight night. Taking place on the first Friday of May, this boxing match will be held under the stars. Basic tickets will get you standing second level views, and the most luxe tickets on offer at over $4000 will make you a ringside VIP. This is not one to miss.

See Post Malone In The Flesh

Back in Brisbane for the first time since his music took over the international music scene with his unique style and sound is Post Malone. He will be performing in Brisbane for two nights only in the first weekend of May, supported by Tyla Yaweh and Jaden Smith. Book tickets fast because they aren’t likely to last.

Hit Up Every Fresh Artwork At 2019's Brisbane Street Art Festival

Brisbane is about to be transformed into a citywide outdoor exhibit this month. From the first weekend of May running for two full weeks, artists will be hitting the streets with live mural painting sessions, exhibitions, workshops, performances, and parties to celebrate our local art scene.

Score The Freshest Sea Fare At The Annual Seafood Festival

If you love to eat all creatures that hail from the sea, The Caxton Hotel’s Seafood Festival is definitely for you. The first Sunday of May they will be bringing out all the seafood they can get their hands on for a full day feast. This is the 25thyear of the fest, so book a table to celebrate a quarter century of delicious seafood platters.

Live It Up At Cinco De Mayo

Celebrate Cinco De Mayo at the annual party hosted by Riverland. Luckily this year Cinco De Mayo falls on a Sunday, so Riverland will be serving up Mexican street eats and tequila cocktails all day long. Stop by for a bite and a drink and party into the night with the on-site mariachi band.

Devour Brisbane's Best Street Food At Fish Lane Festival

Another legendary festival will be kicking off in the second weekend of May focusing on food, drink, live tunes, and good vibes. Fish Lane Festival will have all the dining institutions that line Fish Lane overflowing onto the street, plus four stages showcasing live entertainment and pop-up bars around every corner.

Here is a friendly reminder that Mother’s Day is coming up on the second weekend of May. If you forgot and are now panicking, relax. Riverland’s high tea is the perfect Mother’s Day event to show your Mum you care and totally remembered. Celebrate beauty in all forms at the MELT Beauty Pageant’s first heat. Brisbane Powerhouse will be hosting the event in the lead up to MELT: Festival of Queer Arts. What you can expect on the night is the first heat to determine Brisbane’s most fabulous drag kings, queens, and queer icons as they duke it out onstage for the crown.
