We know you’ve been practicing your home cocktail making skills for months now, but does anything really compare to a creative sip expertly mixed by an experienced bartender? Especially when they’re using much better liqueurs and spirits than the random bottles you’ve collected on your bar cart? We thought not—which is why we’re pretty stoked that a few lucky residents of Brisbane can score $1 (professionally shaken) cocktails this week. Even better, they’ll be delivered to your door.
It’s all thanks to Monkey Shoulder, who’ve teamed up with three top Brisbane bars— Death & Taxes, Cobbler and Byblos—to deliver cocktails from their trailblazing bartenders. Each bar will be shaking up three ‘Unlock-down’ cocktails over three days, which will be bottled up and delivered—The Espresso Monkey, The Boulevardier #3 and a Lazy Old Fashioned, all using Monkey Shoulder whisky of course.
Before you get excited, you should know that the cocktails are only heading to certain suburbs—Death & Taxes sips will be heading to Newstead, Bowen Hills and Fortitude Valley on Thursday 13 August, Cobbler’s will be heading to West End, Highgate Hill and South Brisbane on Friday 14 August and the Byblos concoctions to Ascot, Hendra, Albion and Hamilton on Saturday 15 August. But if you do live in those suburbs then get ordering—you’ll even get a free pair of sunnies with your drink. And you’ll get to see the gigantic cocktail shaker truck doing the deliveries, which is a sight worth seeing on it’s own.
Martin Lange, Group Operator at Death & Taxes and Cobbler, said of the deliveries, “These have been undeniably trying times for us in the hospitality industry...we have never been more pleased to partner with Monkey Shoulder to provide a service that helps us deliver our delicious cocktails and bring happiness into our customers’ homes. We are so pleased to be able to help people create special moments at home over our expertly crafted whisky cocktails.”
Ready to order a well-crafted cocktail and await its delivery? Just head to the website of the bar delivering to your area, where you can order a drink online, whether that’s Death & Taxes, Cobbler or Byblos.
