Prepare To Feel The Buzz, A Laneway Coffee Festival Is Coming

Coffee Festival

Make plans to ditch your usual bearded barista on Saturday 27 July, because a boutique coffee festival is taking over Fortitude Valley’s coolest laneways with much more tantalising brews than your regular half-strength almond lattes.

Spreading across Bakery, California and Winn Lanes in the heart of the Valley, the best of Brisbane’s specialty coffee scene will be slinging espressos, filters and alt-brews that will have you giving up on sleep for the rest of the weekend, all for The Lanes Coffee Festival.

Basically a single origin bean lover’s wet dream, the day will be filled with masterclasses, demonstrations, new products and of course, coffee drinking. You’ll find a few underground roasters so cool you don’t even know about them yet rubbing shoulders with the big guns of the industry, including Single O, Fonzie Abbott, Wolff Coffee, Coffee Supreme and Padre Coffee.

And while it might start at 10am, you can make good use of all that extra caffeination by staying around until late, with evening celebrations making way for Nitro Expresso Martinis and a secret Fonzie Abbott Pop-Up Bar that you’ll have to see to believe. Until it’s an appropriate time to start drinking something a little stronger than flat whites, you can be impressed by the Latte Art Smack Down Competition, take in a pourover coffee demonstration or just dance out that buzz with live music playing across two stages all day.

The event is free, but extreme coffee drinkers can book a VIP coffee tour with The Monday Coffee for $10, which gets you access to exclusive experiences money can’t buy.
