Great news Brisbane; London label COS will finally be opening its first bricks and mortar store in Brisbane's CBD next month—and it’s about bloody time! Announced back in March this year that the international high street brand would be coming to QLD, the exact date has been a secret until now.
With a slew of international brands making their way to the sunshine state in last few years (Zara and H&M, anyone?) and with UK giants JD Sports just arrived, the new designer boutiques at Fortitude Valley’s The Calile, plus the highly anticipated arrival of luxury giant Dior slated to open before the end of the year in the Queen’s Plaza, it’s long overdue that Brisbane is getting the recognition it deserves as a diverse shopping destination.
With six stores already killing it in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth (honestly!), if you wanted a bit of COS action in your wardrobe you’d have to either A. duck in-store during an interstate visit, or B. fly to London (obviously the latter is far more exciting, but for funding purposes and the health of your bank account it’s obviously not realistic…).
COS has confirmed it will be opening in Queen Street’s Wintergarden on November 16. Set over two-floors, the huge space will house the label’s womenswear (and their incredible line of swimwear!), menswear and children’s range, and will launch in market with their S/S 2018 campaign; think soft tailoring, geometric draping and rich textures. Essentially. All the reasons we’re obsessed with COS.
It goes without saying that this is yet another string to our bow, and we’re gunning for more incredible global brands to hit up our city. Not so good for our bank balance, but hey, you win some, you lose some.
