Whether it's for its purported health benefits, a caffeine hit, or just the sheer pleasure of it, chocolate is an irresistible indulgence for most of us. Here to answer your chocolate prayers is newly opened Red Hill chocolate shop, Couverture & Co.
This new little shop is in good company—just a couple of doors up from another favourite of ours, Botanica. The two businesses are surely going to complement each other nicely with their focus on high-quality, home-made treats designed to be packed up and taken to the park, a friend's house, or straight home!
The result of owner Jessica Brookes' love for chocolate, Couverture & Co. was created after Brookes spent a couple of years working at another local chocolate institution, Bittersweet (now closed), at Paddington's Barracks.
All chocolates are hand-made on the premises and can be purchased individually or packaged up into a beautiful box. All of the details have been well considered—gorgeous labelling and warm staff, in purpose-designed aprons, and even some cacao-bean wallpaper!
Couverture & Co. chocolates are made from Belgian Callebaut (considered some of the finest chocolate in the world) and showcase a combination of traditional techniques with experimental approaches to flavour combinations. This is definitely quality over quantity, but there is sure to be a chocolate to tempt even the fussiest eater.
Couverture & Co. is destined to become a regular spot for those with chocolate addictions looking for outstanding quality, gorgeous presentation, and unusual taste sensations.
