Now that the temps have finally dropped in Brisbane and the days are getting shorter, all we can think about is eating comfort food and keeping warm. Eat, sleep, repeat.
To help us achieve peak winter vibes is a massive day-long mulled wine festival popping up at food haven, Welcome To Bowen Hills. For one day only on Saturday May 18, WTBH will be resplendent with mulled wine pop-ups and the evocative smell of cinnamon, star anise and open fires in the air.
But, as per Welcome To Bowen Hills’ excess style, this is no ordinary dash-and-grab, this is a full day-long event featuring not one but six mulled wine flavours for you to get your hands on. As well as the classic mulled wine, enjoy more modern infusions such as apple pie, cherry, chilli chocolate and sticky date flavoured mulled wines, as well as a cheeky mulled cider thrown in for good measure.
When hunger undoubtedly strikes, both Harry’s Pizza and Mr Burger will be dishing out the finest burgers and pizzas to pair with your mulled wine sesh, and the main bar will be serving up their usual beverages if you’re keen on a frostie or a cocktail instead.
As always, live music will be playing, furry friends are encouraged and entry is free, so mark the calendars, break out the chunky knitwear and settle in for a very cozy afternoon session.
