New Bar Greaser Opens in The Valley

We love new Brisbane bars, and the Valley's latest watering hole to swing open its doors is Greaser, a bluesy basement bar with all the appeal of an American dive bar, minus the Americans. Win!

Note to our American readers: Just kidding. We love you guys.

Make your way down a back alley and you'll find Greaser, a subterranean refuge where the intentionally dingy atmosphere is ideal for revelry making.

The drinks list at Greaser is littered with new and old USA classics, with both American and local craft beers on rotation. Serving up picklebacks — the notorious American whisky cocktail made with pickles and pickle brine —as well as Pony Boy Palomas — a lime juice, tequila, and grapefruit soda concoction — there's certainly nothing dull about this little bar's cocktails. They also make all of their own juices, syrups and foams in house. Legends?

There's an American-inspired bar menu at this new Brisbane bar features the likes of buttermilk southern fried chicken (which comes in pieces, half-bird, or whole), grilled hotdogs with pickled jalapenos and cheese floss, and cheeseburgers with crinkle cut chips, to line your stomach before a few whisky shooters. Greaser's bar menu is available Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm.

Greaser opens from 6pm tonight.
