How do you make your downward facing dog 147 times more fun? Let us tell you.
Add a fluffy puppy and a class filled with like-minded, pooch-loving individuals—let’s just visualise that for a minute. What could possibly go wrong? Yep, Doga (dog yoga, duh) is officially a thing and you can do it, on the Gold Coast!
And we’re rather intrigued as to how this one would play out. Held over the course of one hour, and starting with a calming warm-up stroll, the classes combine (wait for it) each pose and one strategically-placed (wo)man’s best friend.
Truth is, Hot Tropical Yoga in Coolangatta has actually been offering Doga for five years now, but we only found out about it via an Insta tag. Um, best tag ever? The gems that you find when scrolling the ‘gram…
Held by the beach in Cooly, on Sunday mornings in the cooler months of April to September, Doga involves about 20 carefully chosen yoga poses that involve interaction and soothing touch with your pooch.
It’s BYO dog, of course, and while we’re thinking you’d want one small and super chill puppy to make this a success they tell us it’s open to all sizes and skill level—basically anyone who’s willing to give it a try.
Zen out with your favourite furry friend, all while raising money for local animal charities such as Friends Of The Pound (classes are $15 and all proceeds are kindly donated). Walking away with a smile on your dial and a new-found connection with your pooch is guaranteed! Bookings essential.
Is this not the best thing you’ve heard all day?
