Living in Brisbane has its perks. What, with the beach less than an hour away, epic hikes literally surrounding us, a booming art scene, and foodie scene putting our southern counterparts to shame, there’s one thing that Brisbane does better than anyone: alfresco riverside dining. It’s seriously world class.
One spot, though, is kind of stealing the show. We’re talking jugs of tropical cocktails, fresher than fresh seafood, and prime river frontage. You’re going to want to make this spot your new go-to, trust us; allow us to introduce Riverbar & Kitchen. You’re welcome.
The open-air, riverside setting makes Riverbar & Kitchen perfect for all of your social commitments, really. Set up shop for after work drinks, mid-week drinks and dinner, or even your next function. Click here to find out about Riverbar’s function packages.
First of all, we need to address the deliciousness that is their cocktail menu. Seriously, these babies come straight from the brains of Riverbar’s resident mixologist. With names that are potentially cuter than anything you’ll ever hear, we’ll forgive you for ordering the entire list. Ladies Doing Lunch is a cacophony of elderflower, strawberry, peach bitters, lime, and Absolut vodka, while the Beach Bum Punch pays tribute to Beefeater gin, Lillet Blanc, peach, mint, berries, and citrus and is made for sharing.
Our favourite though, has got to be Rome With A View: Regale Rogue wild rosé, Campari, orange, lime, grapefruit soda—perfection.
The food doesn’t disappoint, either. Best come kitted out in your best stretchy pants, hungry AF, and ready to feast. The soft shell crab burger is a total winner (and, one of Brisbane’s best burgers if you ask us), while the prawn bun with Asian coleslaw and kaffir lime mayonnaise is an undeniable crowd pleaser. If you’re anything like us, and you use calamari as a metric to judge venues, we think you’re going to love Riverbar & Kitchen.
If pizza is your game, you may just fall in love here. The spicy lamb quesadilla with avocado and sour cream is different, unusual and totally addictive. Meanwhile, the bresaola with garlic, blue cheese, oregano, and figs, on the other hand is made for pairing with rosé in the Brisbane sunshine.
The best part, though? All this food is available until late—thank the foodie Gods!
