Red Deer Music & Arts Festival 2013

It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we were rocking out at the Red Deer Music & Arts Festival last September, but preparations are in full swing for this year's fest, and boy are we getting excited.

Adored by Brisbane music lovers for its laid-back, grassroots feel, and community vibe, Red Deer is fast becoming an iconic Brisbane event and this year's event (on Saturday, September 7th) promises to deliver.

Your first time to the Deer? Here's the low down.

Red Deer is kind of the anti-festival festival. For starters, You can BYO drinks. And there's (free!) camping right there, so you can stumble back to your tent once the last tune has been played, which is useful because the festival is held out at Mt Samson (in Brisbane's north), so you're out in the woods.

And, it's cheap; general admission will only set you back $79 + booking fee! Bring your own food (there are food tents as well, if your sanga isn't cutting it), rugs, and layers, cause it'll be chilly.

But what about the music, I hear you screech? Never fear, there's a killer lineup this year.

Indie rock icons, The Grates are headlining, Mat McHugh (ex Beautiful Girls frontman) and the Seperatista Soundsystem will be there, and Kingswood will also be fronting up. For the full lineup, check out the Red Deer website to see who's who.

Tickets have been on sale for a couple of weeks and there are not many left. We suggest jumping on to the website now and securing a spot before it's too late.

See you there!
