Clear your calendar, because Westfield’s Taste. Shop. Play is back for another weekend of epic pop-ups brimming with drool-worthy eats, makeup tutorials and creative exhibits.
It’s all going down on Saturday and Sunday, 7-8 September across six Westfields in Queensland. So, no matter your postcode or preference there’s sure to be something for everyone.
With retro fashion trends gracing the catwalk, the resurfacing of mullets and Stranger Things taking the world by storm, it’s clear the 80s are having an epic resurgence. If you’ve been contemplating trying the trend out for size, the time is now, with a mass of 80s-inspired pop-ups about to surface near you.
If you’re looking to teleport back to a time when synths were big and hair was even bigger, Westfield Carindale will be bringing the biggest and best 80s hits with a live DJ, while Westfield Chermside will host Aerobics under The Dome (think back to nostalgic Ozstyle vibes) with oversized board games, a pop-up braid bar, live Flash mobs and a Combi photo booth.
If that’s not enough of a nostalgic trip down memory lane, head to Westfield Coomera to snag some retro yearbook photos, get glammed up at the Beauty Bar (complete with glitter nails and a crimping station) or catch a retro movie screening at Event Cinemas. Oh, and let’s not forget the roller skating polaroid girls and beauty zone at Westfield Helensvale. It’s a resounding yes from us.
Let’s be honest, we all scream for free ice cream.
Head down to Westfield Carindale for a mouth-watering ice cream pop-up serving up free ice cream, as well as food sampling from a delicious array of retailers. For more free ice cream, make a beeline to Westfield North Lakes and keep your eyes peeled for the roller girls and mouth-watering cooking demonstrations.
If you consider yourself someone with a seasoned sweet-tooth, make the journey to Westfield Helensvale for finger bun decorating or plan a visit to Westfield Coomera to test your kitchen skills in their 90s-style cooking classes.
Listen up sneaker enthusiasts, Westfield Garden City’s Sneaker Museum has arrived, thanks to Footlocker, and it’s everything a sneakerhead would want.
And finally, if you’re a lover of astrology, be sure to pencil in a visit to the styling sessions, helping you find the best spring outfits based on your star sign.
