The Brisbane foodie scene is nothing short of delicious. But, June has seen a whole bevvy of Brisbane firsts and faves open up in a new and exciting dining precinct, and we’re absolutely chuffed because we didn't know Brisbane could get any more delectable.
We’re talking about the newly opened dining precinct at Westfield Chermside. In case you missed their epic opening (featuring a light-show, live performance by Young Franco, and half of Brisbane turning up to have a sticky beak), here’s just a taste of some of the new openings you can get excited about, so you can plan your visit ASAP.
Warning: don’t keep reading if you’re hungry.
#1 4Fingers Crispy Chicken
If you don’t think fried chicken is #lyfe, we’re not quite sure what’s wrong with you, really. But one bite of the fried goodness at 4Fingers Crispy Chicken and you’ll be a convert, we’re sure of it. If you haven’t heard the name before, we’ll forgive you, as this is their first ever Queensland store (which is HUGE news). The Singapore-based brand have picked this delicious Northside precinct as the next stop on their tour of world domination. Their fried chicken is hand-coated with their famous soy-based sauce (the sauce takes six months to prepare, NBD) and contains no artificial flavours, which we love. These guys also use free-range chicken, which we’re all about.
#2 Fiery Deli
Home of the Taco Burger, Westfield Chermside has finally brought Fiery Deli to Brisbane, meaning we can skip that drive to the Gold Coast for their delicious Latin flavours. Expect fresh, zesty South American street food—such as the infamous Taco Burger: a delicious cross between—you guessed it—a taco and a burger, found on just about every Venezuelan street corner, and now right on your doorstep! Plus, the vegan options here are endless, which means everyone’s happy. Throw in free salsa dancing nights and you've got a recipe for Latin magic, so be sure to check their social media for dates.
#3 Zeus Street Greek
Greek street food doesn’t get much better than this, especially since Zeus Street Greek's philosophy is about switching up your perception of the souvlaki as a greasy late night snack. These guys are the absolute masters of classic Greek-style pitas stuffed with succulent meat from the souvla—cooked traditionally on skewers over hot charcoal— fresh veggies, haloumi, and chips. And because haloumi is life, we’ve got to admit when we found out Brisbane was getting another Zeus Street Greek we let out a bit of a squeal, and made a beeline for Brisbane's biggest foodie precinct.
#4 Pho Vietnamese
When you think Vietnamese food you think fresh, crispy, Bahn Mi, and hot, rich, flavorsome Pho loaded with fresh herbs and spicy chilli. Luckily Pho Vietnamese has both nailed. So, if it's a taste of authentic Vietnam you're craving, look no further than this world-class foodie precinct. You're welcome.
#5 Betty’s Burgers
Any Brisbanite worth their weight in burgers knows that Betty’s Burgers is where it's at for perfect, classic burgers every single time. Before, you needed to drive two hours to get one, and brave parking on Hastings Street. Now? Westfield Chermside have changed our lives and brought the burger mecca right into Brisbane. We hate to throw around superlatives here, but we're going to call it: Betty's Burgers are absolutely the best burgers in Australia. There, we said it.
