The Urban List’s Guide To The Slopes

By Ellie Schneider - 13 Jun 2014

Whilst many associate Australia with the sun and surf, our golden country is also home to some fabulous ski resorts, for those in need of a weekend winter getaway!  Whether you're an expert skier or testing out your (possibly wobbly) ski legs for the first time, feel the rush and get your après-ski on at these top six ski slopes. Here's our guide to where to ski and snowboard in Australia.

PERISHER | KOSCIUSZKO NATIONAL PARK NSW

The largest ski resort in Australia, Perisher is situated in the picturesque Kosciuszko National Park and incorporates four villages including Blue Cow, Guthega, Smiggin Holes, and Perisher Valley. This alpine playground features 47 lifts and a plethora of ski runs so there's plenty of choice for both expert and first-time skiers. Skiers and boarders flock here during the winter school holidays so we'd recommend visiting off-season to avoid the crowds!
