Let’s be real for a second: Brisbane knows its shit when it comes to fine dining. Gone are the days of Sizzler (R.I.P) being the only marker of our dining calibre—we’re playing with the big kids now. Everyone worth their weight in truffles knows that Brisbane is one hell of a dining destination these days. And, the good news? You can find them all in one place. Enter: Eagle Street Pier.

If you’ve somehow missed the line-up of foodie heavy weights perched on the banks of the Brisbane River, allow us to familiarise you with the epic line up of events and specials on this winter at Eagle Street Pier. With a side of epic views and super central CBD location.

#1 Aria Brisbane

Aria Brisbane takes the crown for being one of the city’s top tier fine dining institutions. The menu—designed by Matt Moran and Head Chef Ben Russell—heroes local produce in a deliciously decadent, beautifully presented way. We’re talking Moreton Bay bugs with shiitake and seaweed butter, plus scorched King salmon with kohlrabi, soybean and wasabi…and that’s without even mentioning the roast lamb loin with eggplant and miso. Plus, the space is recently refurbished!

#2 Sake

If next-level delicious Japanese fare is your thing, then Sake is going to be your kryptonite. Winter is the perfect time to explore, too, as they’ve just released their new classic set menu, which is—spoiler alert—so damn good. The line-up features nori crisps with tuna, king fish, green onion, togarashi, and sesame dressing, grass feed beef tataki, prawn tempura, glacier 51 toothfish cooked in miso butter and bamboo leaves, and more…We’re not drooling, you are!

#3 Pony Dining

Pony Dining boasts one of Brisbane’s best views, and one of Brisbane’s best lunch menus, too. Sink your teeth into the 12-hour braised BBQ rub lamb shoulder with chimichurri, or roasted desiree gnocchi, or the charcoal squid with fermented chilli, green mango, kohlrabi, and coriander. Let’s be honest, though: your best bet is going to be ordering one of everything, because picking off this menu seems pretty impossible.

#4 Fratelli Famous

Sydney icon, Fratelli Fresh, have joined the Eagle Street Pier family, and, in case you missed the memo: this is pretty big news. With legions of adoring fans in Sydney, it’s only fair that us Brisbanites get a taste of the (aptly named) famous pizzas. Not only are the pizzas delicious, they’re also only $10 during happy hour alongside $5 beers. Happy hour runs from 3-5pm every day.

#5 Bavarian Beer Café

German favourite, Bavarian Beer Café, is arguably one of our favourite places to soak up the sun with a stein of beer in hand. Aside from the huuuuge schnitzels on offer here, they also do 50 cent chicken wings and $25 buckets of beer for most live sports games.

As if that wasn’t enough to entice you, there’s also 50% off lunches at George’s Paragon and $18 flat rate parking on weeknights and weekends! Plus, a whole heap of restaurants call Eagle Street Pier home, too: Jade Buddah, Cha Cha Char, Il Centro, Mr and Mrs G’s Riverbar, Nagomi and many, many more.
