The Breakfast Salad at Patch is made up from a delicious combination of Kale, avocado, pomegranate, almond, cauliflower and a soft-boiled egg. If you want (we do!) you can add bacon. This meal provides a protein packed, low carb hit you'll need to fuel your day ahead.  Kale is one of the most common 'superfood' vegetables at the moment – and for good reason. This supergreen is an antioxidant, Vitamin packed veggie with anti-inflammatory benefits, making it a winter vegetable you'll want to choose.

The Deck's high protein Brekkie Burger will make any Neanderthal happy. A delicious combination of bacon rashers, grilled zucchini, tomato and spinach stacked between two fried free range eggs, served with smashed avocado. Perfect!

Create Your Own Breakfast | Palate in Prahran

One of our favourites, a choose your own breakfast adventure, what more could any caveman or woman ask for?

At Palate, we went with the option of choosing 5 items (including 1 meat) and got 2 poached free range eggs, smashed avocado, grilled marinated mushrooms, cauliflower rice with garlic and onion and smokey bacon rashers. If you're feeling extra ravenous, there's the option of 7 items.

Original Paleo Pancakes & Mountain Coffee | Thr1ve in Melbourne CBD

Pancakes and coffee almost sounds too 'normal' for us! Thr1ve's stack of Dutch mini pancakes are made from coconut and almond flour, free frange eggs and maple syrup. Served with cinnamon and organic honey. Add sliced banana if you choose. We did.

With that, enjoy a Mountain Coffee, which is a Butter/MCT coffee (if you haven't heard of this yet, you're just not Paleo enough). A Long Black coffee with MCTs & Grass fed butter. This is a creamy, delicious, nutrient packed coffee that'll get you mentally prepped and focused for the day of lifting heavy things (or not) ahead.

Although this doesn't sound very Paleo – it is! Take a short drive to Paleo Café in Mornington and you'll be rewarded by the delight of free range poached eggs, spinach, nitrate free bacon (or salmon) served on Paleo toast. Nitrates are nasties that are hidden in most commercial bacon, so if you see any nitrate free options – go for them! Our pick is to enjoy a coconut milk latte on the side, too. You're welcome.
