16 Epic Events Happening On The Sunshine Coast This February

We started the year of 2018 on the Coast with a bang. Events and new openings kept us sooo busy and it would seem February isn’t going to be any slower with loads of events to keep your social cal full, and then some. Here’s our pick of the best things to do on the Sunshine Coast this month.

Open Air Movie Nights

Who doesn’t love an outdoor big screen experience? Well rest easy ‘cause Open Air Movie Nights are back, guys, and this time ‘round they’re reigniting the screen with the classic ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’. Celebrating its 30th year (released in 1988) this ground-breaking blend of animation and live action is a stand-out movie and scores high on our list of classic flicks. Once the sun goes down, you can sit back, relax and celebrate in style. Come along and experience the magic!

Sunshine Coast Vegan Markets

We’ve been patiently waiting a while for this one to debut and now the Sunshine Coast Vegan Markets are finally here and all vegans are rejoicing! A monthly 100% vegan market showcasing a selection of delectable vegan food, food products, body and leisure products, fashion and more. Bring along your carnivorous friends, they won’t even be able to tell the difference.

Noosa Summer Swim Festival

Seven swims over two days at Noosa Main Beach—this is bucket list stuff guys. This weekend festival will again offer a range of distances for every ability, from junior events to the 5km Noosa Grand Prix where seasoned swimmers can push their limits alongside current Olympic swimmers. And if swimming isn’t your thing, don’t worry, beach yoga will also be happening over the two-day event.

Summer Under The Stars 

One of our fave restaurants is Spicer's Clovelly. This February, they are hosting an outdoor dining experience like no other. We present to you, Summer Under The Stars. Think: indulging in an intimate three-course dinner on their beautiful front lawn. We really can’t picture a better way to celebrate the final days of summer.

Introductory Wheel Throwing Workshop 

Wanna get your imagination pumping but not sure how? Well, you've come to the right place, peeps. Syndicate Creative is a workshops and gallery space specifically for creatives. From pottery and ceramics, to drawing and weaving there's something for everyone at any skill level, and we love that. This month they are hosting an introductory course on pottery throwing. Sounds very Ghost-like to us!

The Ultimate Makeup Workshop

Let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to learn a little more about achieving contouring perfection? Or what about bettering your brows? Maybe your lashes can use a little lovin’? Either way, this masterclass will cover all of the bases to achieving makeup goals even Kimmy K would approve of. Did we mention there is champagne on arrival? Woot!

Peregian Originals Community Music Festival 

Do you love live music that’s also totally original? Well then, this could be the event for you. This family-friendly muso gathering is being held at one of our fave spots on the Coast, Peregian Beach. Grab your friends and fam and head down to enjoy the entertainment.

Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival

Spicers Tamarind Retreat is hosting its first ever Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival. Come and enjoy cooking demonstrations whilst taste testing some incredible Asian food in the beautiful rainforest surrounds of Spicers Tamarind Retreat. You’ll enjoy six mouth-watering Asian dishes and three matching beverages. Bring along a picnic blanket and relax in the sunshine whilst enjoying the amazing tastes of Asia. There will be live entertainment all afternoon, so gather a group of friends and enjoy!

Valentine’s Day 

This is just a reminder for all of you out there who seem to forget every year. Why not whisk your lover away for a day at the beach, a meander around the many love-filled events on the Coast or a dinner for two at your first ever date spot. You’ve been warned now not to forget! Noosa Junction Twilight Market

We like a good market up here on the Coast, but we LOVE a twilight market. This beauty is Noosa's only night market. There’s live music all night, food trucks, pop-up bar with happy hour prices all night and artisan stalls. Sounds like we’ll be seeing you there.

Mooloolaba Beach Festival & Mooloolaba Mile Ocean Swim

Feeling fresh this Feb? Well then, welcome to the new Mooloolaba Beach Festival! This weekend of events is a celebration of sand, surf and beach culture on the Sunshine Coast. Some of the events include ocean swims, water sports and paddling that include both elite and weekend paddlers. This event is a goodie for anyone of any age and promises to be an action-packed weekend from sunrise to sunset.

The Sunday Sessions

Who doesn’t love a solid summer Sunday sesh? Join Café Le Monde for the fifth instalment of ‘The Sunday Sessions’ featuring psych-dub-reggae-funksters Hemingway, The Bonnie Doons and the Sunshine Coast’s reggae makers, Dosed.  The sesh kicks off at 3pm and they have a garden bar and curbside BBQ. Did we mention entry is free? Sounds like Sunday arvo perfection to us.

Guy Sebastian At Park After Dark

This one is on the Gold Coast but we figured it’s worth a mention. There's something pretty fun about being at a theme park at night, and Dreamworld's Park after Dark events definitely appeal to the big kid in us. Aussie ledge Guy Sebastian will be kicking off the first Park after Dark event for 2018 with a live show, belting out tracks from his latest album Conscious, along with some iconic bangers from years past.

Sunshine Coast Collective Market

This is a fave of ours. Think: an eclectic collection of local Sunshine Coast designers, musicians, artists, foodies, creators, vintage wares and lifestyle lovers. Nothing mass produced will be found here, everything is local and sustainable, just the way we like it. Word.
