3 New Mon-Fri Espresso Bars To Try This Week

Before you ask, nope, we’re not sick of writing, thinking, or thinking about writing about coffee, just yet. We’re not even sure that’s a possibility.

When there’s just so many damn good coffee joints opening up across the Coast, what’s a site to do except cover and present them to our fave caffeine junkies, AKA allll of you.

And so here we are, another week and another list of new coffee spots to check out. The thing is, there’s a bit of a catch—these new and somewhat hidden espresso bars are open on weekdays. Only. Meaning, from Monday to Friday they’ve got your back with a hot brew and cosy seating. Come the weekends, you better skedaddle and find somewhere else to slurp the best coffee on the Sunshine Coast.

For your workday wake-me-up, we present to you three new contenders for the best coffee on the Sunshine Coast.

Mast Coffee

It’s tiny, but it sure is beautiful. A concrete floor, stunning timber cabinetry and minimal clutter gives Mast Coffee a super refined look that we’re totally digging. Open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3pm, Mast Coffee is a welcome addition to the workshop belonging to local design brand, Mast Furniture. Oh, and if you can’t afford any of their pieces (even though they’re totes worth it), soon you’ll be able to buy a coffee and admire them, with whispers of a connecting showroom in the works. Serving Single O Roasters coffee and Tanglewood Bakery treats, head here for an espresso and leave with a croissant. Worth noting: if you’re an Aeropress fan, these guys have the process nailed.

Reception Coffee

We broke the news of this new coffee spot in the Coolum industrial estate not too long ago, and the good brews have kept us coming back. Reception Coffee is open 7am to 12pm on weekdays, which means if you’re a Yandina-Coolum Road hooligan, this is a morning detour you really want to take. Calming white walls will help balance those first-minute-jitters after you sip on a cup of the strong stuff. Killin’ time, ‘cause you’re wayyy ahead of time? That game of UNO on the counter ain’t gonna play itself. Go on, you know you want to, the baristas might even join in!
Where: 2 Access Crescent, Coolum Beach

Tamp & Tailor

Who would’ve thought of in-betweener suburb Kunda Park as a coffee-pumping machine? Not us. But thanks to the two-week old Tamp & Tailor, we stand corrected—this place serves up a mean cup of joe. Open Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4pm, and Fridays 6am to 1pm, this little hidden coffee shop, is the perfect, industrial-styled nook to wile away the morning. Run by super-friendly husband and wife, Bryan and Grace, if you work in the area we’re giving you a virtual fist bump—because you got lucky, friend, real lucky. And well, if you don’t work nearby, it’s still worth hunting down, for the velvety brew and the tasty sweets on offer—think: bliss balls, brownies, or for something more filling, pre-made wraps.  Are these guys doing some of the best coffee on the Sunshine Coast? You decide.
