Whether it’s a big cheesy, I-wanna-roll-home kinda feast or a refreshing, zesty bowl of crunchy goodness, we’ve found the nachos we rate as muy fantastic. Without further ado here’s where you can munch the best nachos on the Sunshine Coast:
FRESH NACHOS | HAZY LO’S CAFÈ
Formerly Get Fresh Cafe, Hazy Lo’s does the goldilocks of nachos. Not too heavy, not too healthy, it’s juuust right. Oven baked corn chips, mexi beans, melted mozzarella, tomato salsa, avocado, sour cream, and a dollop of their house-made jalapeño pesto. The ingredients are all super fresh, so you can safely walk away from this one feeling uber satisfied without having to undo your top button.

SMOKED CHICKEN NACHOS | CANTEEN KITCHEN + BAR
Coolum’s newest eatspot, Canteen Kitchen and Bar serves up a mean meaty nachos for lunch or dinner; smoked chicken on blue corn tortilla chips, covered in house-made smokey sauce, zesty jalapeños, corn salsa, and fresh coriander. Interestingly though, their breakfast menu also features corn chips. It’s not exactly nachos, but it’s pretty darn awesome. Scrambled eggs, blue corn tortilla chips, smashed avo, and a beetroot salmon gravlax—ooooh yeah.

ORGANIC BEEF NACHOS | CAFE LE MONDE
A big meaty bowl of hangover cure goodness, Le Monde is famous for serving up some of the best nachos on the Sunshine Coast. But don’t be fooled—just because it’s “organic” that doesn’t make this badboy healthy. Get comfy because you’re in for a feast of crunchy chips topped with hot melted cheese, organic ground beef, chipotle black beans, sour cream, and guac.

MEXICAN NACHOS | LA CANTEENA
It’s not the Californian-influenced plate that most of us know to be “nachos”, in fact it’s more likely what you’d actually get sitting beachside in Mexico. Except you’re at La Canteena. In Maroochydore. Toasted tortilla chips topped with queso fresco (fresh cheese—nope, not melted), black beans, guacamole, salsa verde (green salsa, no tomatoes ‘round here) and your choice of pork, beef, or chicken. Try it, you’ll be converted in no time.

NACHO BOWL | GREENHOUSE CAFE
Greenhouse Café have taken this classic and added their own little green twist. You’ll find a big crunchy cabbage-y salad, and coyo tzatziki on top of your spice beany nacho pile. The thing is, it works. It really works.

VEGETARIAN NACHOS | MOOSHKA
There aren’t that many elements to nachos, but when you get every single one of them bang on, it’s a big win. Crispy round corn chips topped with house-made saucy beans, melted cheese, a drizzle of sour cream, and a hefty portion of particularly flavoursome guacamole is what you’ll nab at Mooshka. Pair that with a Corona and you’ll be one happy amigo.

RAW VEGAN NACHOS | LIVE FOODS CAFE
So it turns out that raw, vegan nachos is a thing. And a damn good thing, too. The chips are created using nuts, the sour cream is dairy-free, and the guacamole and salsa are made from whole raw foods. It’s light enough that you’ll totally have room for dessert. What do we recommend? Live Foods Café do a epic raw vegan key lime pie.
