The Hunter Valley just gets us, you know. First they provide us with the perfect location for a wine-filled weekend away and now they’ve answered our silent prayers by hosting a cheese festival. Yep, you heard right—a cheese festival.
Kurrajong Kitchen and Tyrrell’s Wines have partnered with The Sebel Kirkton Park to celebrate our favourite dairy treat and we can’t think of a better way to spend our Saturday afternoon. The Cheese Lovers Festival will take place on Saturday 25th June and there will be live entertainment, competitions (you could win $1,000) and a three-course Cheese House Dinner hosted by Celebrity Chef Lyndey Milan.
And as with any good cheese festival, there will be samples everywhere, as well as stalls offering craft beer and the finest wines from the Hunter Valley, complete with cheese pairing to ensure you get the most out of your cheese-filled day.
If you are looking to level up your cheese snobbery, Sonia Cousins from the Australian Specialist Cheesemakers Association will be there to guide you through the world of artisan cheese producers. A regular judge at several major Australian cheese shows, she really knows her stuff and in her workshop she’ll educate you on all things Australian cheese and the art of pairing.
At just $20 per person, this is the perfect excuse to head up to The Hunter for the weekend. Don’t forget to check out the Cheese House Dinner and Lunch, available for an extra fee. You can book yours here.
Who said it ain’t easy being cheesy?
