The world's pretty crazy now, and we're seeing plenty of things we've never seen before—but this one you're about to read about takes the cake.
Chin Chin, the restaurant that famously doesn't take bookings and always has a line around the block, will now be taking bookings.
“These are incredibly challenging times for our entire nation. I, along with my amazing staff are determined to play our role in keeping our cities functioning by doing what we know best, which is giving our guests the very best food experiences in the most hospitable way."
"While we all appreciate the seriousness of the current crisis, I also believe it’s incredibly important to stay positive and maintain a sensible perspective, making sure we all reach to those in need. In particular, the elderly and most at risk in our society," said LUCAS CEO and Founder Chris Lucas.
"The romance and happiness of eating in an amazing restaurant should not be underestimated. We hope these initiatives can bring some joy back into everyone's lives.”
LUCAS has made some changes to their other venues also, here's what to expect:
- All LUCAS venues will now take bookings, this includes Chin Chin (Melbourne & Sydney), Kisumé, Hawker Hall, Kong, Baby, and Go Go bar.
- Adding a free bottle of wine with every takeaway order placed directly with select venues (just Baby, Hawker Hall and Kong in Melbourne) that are over the value of $50 (conditions apply)
- Guests that dine in at any LUCAS venue will receive the first drink free from the "specials" menu
- Children aged 12 and under, accompanied by a parent who is dining in-venue, will receive a free meal up to the value of $40 per child
