Sydney’s Set To Score A Pop-Up Island Hotel Complete With Latin Eats

Sydney + Summer = sleeping on an island in the harbour, amirite? Thought so. In your latest edition of ‘that’s so Sydney’ news, a pop-up hub of food, dranks and boutique accommodation is setting up home on the harbour and our filters are ready.

Cockatoo Island will host Contained on Bolt Wharf, where you and your crew can laze about, stuffing yourself silly with latin eats courtesy of chef Don Tapa. The food here is even created with fresh produce from Urban Farm, so it’s a big delicious tick from us, and it will only set you back $60 per person for their set shared menu. 

Seeing as you’re on an island, you’ll need a cocktail, and they’ve got those too with gin by Archie Rose Distillery along with beer and wine (you’ve fired up the group chat already, haven’t you?).

Now for the accommodation; Contained is bringing a luxe, adults-only boutique hotel to sit alongside the restaurant, so you can kick back on the water’s edge. Expect a repurposed shipping container, with all the comforts you’d expect—queen bed, air con (praise be) and even a container plunge pool.
