Attention all Inner Westies, there is a new spot to get your saganaki fix in Sydney and you should be all over this one. Opa Greek Mezze Bar is everything its name suggests, with a menu packed full of Greek fan faves like taramasalata (we could bathe in the stuff), grilled BBQ octopus and that saganaki brilliance we mentioned earlier.
Head Chef David Fyfe is topping this melted cheesy deliciousness with wild rocket, pistachio and pomegranate and yeah, it’s the dream. Opa Greek Mezze Bar has just opened in Rozelle and the fit out is just like a traditional Greek tavern for that peak homeliness.
Now back to the food (the reason you’re all really here). Follow up your saganaki with the baked lamb shoulder because it’s a damn classic, served simply with lemon and tzatziki. And you know us well enough by now; order dessert, always. Order the bougatsa custard-filled filo, served with pistachio and vanilla bean ice cream, then thank us later.
