What's On

We’re Getting An African Food Festival!

By Phoebe McRae
9th Mar 2018

Jambo Sydneysiders! Get your drums at the ready (or find some quick), because an African festival is happening in our fair city this March. In fact, tomorrow.

The biggest, annual African festival in Australia, Africultures, is returning to Lidcombe for a whole day of music, dancing and food, glorious food. There’s bound to be Boerewors sausages and fried plantains, so come prepared with a grumbling belly and a full wallet. Our tip? Start at the Ethiopian coffee tent from Djenbena Coffee and go from there.

There will be fashion (aka a parade) and sport (a soccer tournament, obvs), as well as a bustling marketplace with over 45 stalls selling authentic fabrics, colourful homewares and all sorts of accessories for you to take home.

The Details

What: Africultures Festival
Where: Wyatt Park, Lidcombe
When: Saturday 10 March, 11am - 6pm
Cost: Free

Here are even more things happening in Sydney this month.
