Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so why not do breakfast well with one of the best breakfast menu items ever created – French Toast.  We’ve been all over Brisbane's best cafes in search of the best French toast, and we’ve narrowed it down to a short list of both classic flavours and some more adventurous combinations. Cherry ripe? Bagels? Strawberries and cream? There’s a French toast that meets every need, requirement, and sweet tooth.

Pawpaw Cafe

Pawpaw Café knows how to do French toast well with their ‘Brioche Stack’, and stack is the perfect way to describe the layered breakfast of Brioche French toast, mixed berry and vanilla mascarpone, seasonal fruit, roasted white chocolate, agave syrup and almonds. If that’s not enough, there’s the option of added bacon as well!

Kin + Co

This hole in the wall café continues to curve our sweet tooth craving, and their French toast is no exception. Kin + Co andwiched between two slices of brioche French toast is torched banana smothered in a dollop of crème patisserie and a rich salted caramel sauce.

Plenty

There’s plenty of breakfast options in West End, but Plenty takes the cake with their offering of French toast! Stuffed with apples, their French toast is topped with blueberry curd and buffalo ricotta.

Scout

Scout's recent menu change has introduced a new twist on all our favourites, including the classic French toast! The strawberries & cream French toast has strawberry creme fraiche, strawberry & rhubarb compote, fresh strawberries & pistachios.

Anouk

Anouk is all about taking classic flavours to a whole new level, which is how they’ve approached their French toast. Served with apple, cinnamon spiced maple syrup, cream and oats, you’ll be going back for seconds!

The Single Guys

The Single Guys don’t do anything in halves, and their French toast is no exception! Their offering of Cinnamon Brioche French Toast is served with fresh strawberries, crème anglaise and baked almond crumble.

Hallowed Grounds

Hallowed Grounds can do breakfast like no other, and the best part? They do breakfast all day. They’ve combined two of our favourite breakfast menu items to produce the French toast bagel, composed of a cinnamon and raisin french toast style bagel topped with whipped vanilla bean cream cheese fresh mixed berries and maple syrup.

Jam Pantry

The Jam Pantry tends to go above and beyond when the board flips, with their outrageous flavour combinations and top quality ingredients. This season they’ve taken french toast to a new level with their drenched brioche french toast with raspberry delight, passionfruit ice cream, pomegranate and maple syrup.

The Woolloongabba Social Club

The Woolloongabba Social Club never ceases to amaze us with their breakfast offerings, and they have done it again with their French toast. Their brioche french toast with lemon curd ice cream and strawberries will make you come back for seconds every time!

Comfort At My Table

Offering comfort food and quality coffee to get rid of Monday morning or midweek blues, Comfort At My Table does French toast well. Served with bacon, grilled banana, fresh strawberries, Chantilly cream, maple syrup and berry compote, it’s the perfect combination for any occasion.

Jak + Hill

The industrial chic café and bar offers a range of breakfast and brunch options, including their renowned cherry ripe french toast. Jak + Hill offers a buttery brioche topped with all our childhood and grown up favourites including nutella, fairy floss, cherries, pistachio and almond crumb, cherries, maple syrup and honey mascarpone.
