Brisbane’s Best Mani-Pedis

By AJ James - 14 Dec 2015

There are several things in life that should really be left to the professionals. These include electrical work, taxation advice, operating heavy machinery and practicing emergency medicine. Also in this boat of ‘you really need to know what you’re doing’ jobs you will find the giving of manicures and pedicures.

And while you might think of it as a seemingly simple task, is actually rather difficult. There are many issues at play, some of which if not carried out with care, consideration and coordination can have dire repercussions. And I’m not just talking about those 'dang, wrong colour' moments.

From the perfect polish to the art of conversation, Brisbane’s best manicure and pedicure spots know how to deliver the goods. Whether you treat your nails like a shiny extra accessory or you like a groomed and understated sheen for your digits, we recommend you leave the whole nails business to the professionals and treat yourself to a little festive ‘me-time’ at one of these Brisbane manicure and pedicure gems.

Lush Tan Beauty

New Farm

Situated on the quiet end of James St, Lush Tan Beauty is your go-to for fashion-forward nails and luxe treatments for your digits. With a signature range of services for hands and feets—the paraffin wax is a must-do—they're also open late on weeknights, perfect for a cheeky post-work pamper.

Pho Thai Spa

New Farm

Pho Thai Spa in New Farm takes you to a whole new level of relaxation when giving your hands and feet some love. Lie back with an eye mask and enjoy the soothing massage as your nails and tootsies get buffed to perfection.

Desirable Nails

Paddington

I broke my toe a few months back, and after constantly having people ask, “Can I see it?” I decided the purple and distended culprit needed a little sprucing (as did my whole foot). I will always have a soft spot for the kind women at Desirable Nails in Paddington for providing a brilliant pedicure on someone with a broken toe. Their collection of OPI semi-shellac colours is also excellent.

Blow Salon

Newstead

Blow Salon in Newstead is where to go for an excellent experience and jolly good conversation too. Actually let’s not limit them just to what they can do with your nails. These girls get my nod for best in the Brisbane beauty business. You NEED to book!

Yuva Beauty

Yeronga

Yuva Beauty in Yeronga is a great suburban find. Super clean, super careful, with a flawless polish on both fingers and toes makes it a real keeper for those living on the south side.

Deluxe Nail Spa

Fortitude Valley

Deluxe Nail Spa in Emporium take their time here (perfection and all), but it’s worth the wait. The service is friendly and the execution fine. Check out all the new season colours from luxe teals to cherry reds to pastel yellows.

Desirable Nails

New Farm

In charge at Desirable Nails in New Farm you’ll find Sue, one very engaging and friendly character. Super quick, reasonably priced and there’s always advice to be offered in all aspects of life while getting a slick polish. We recommend booking at peak times.

Paola Moro's Beauty Room

Ascot

Paolo is the jam. She does the slickest work, and if you want something cool and little bit different, she’s your girl.

Gracie Beauty

Spring Hill

If super colourful and cute is your thing, this is your place. There’s glitter and animals and print, but it’s done oh so right. Conveniently located on Wickham Tce in Spring Hill, Gracie Beauty offers a wide range of beauty treatments including both standard and deluxe manicures, the latter of which includes a green tea soak, and exfoliating massage with sea salt, although gel and acrylic nails are their specialty.
