After opening its doors last month, The Defiant Duck in the Gasworks Precinct has proved that its menu is all that its quacked up to be.

Run by the connoisseurs that brought us Hatch and Co, Gerard’s Bistro and Laruche, The Defiant Duck’s menu has something on offer to please everyone from vegetarians, to carnivores and even the budget conscious foodie.

The Gasworks newbie even boasts ownership of a Josper Oven, which is a 100% charcoal powered oven and grill that gives meats a tasty smokey finish.

To give you an idea of the mouth-watering smokey delights on offer, they have buffalo wings, burgers, coca-cola beef ribs, pork ribs and steaks. The Josper Oven makes the meat fifty times more glorious and gives your tastebuds an extra zing!

If you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, there are three decadent desserts to choose from including, the Sweet Home Alabama Cherry Pie, the Defiant Brownie or the Mighty Duck Sundae.

The Defiant Duck is the perfect place to ruffle your feathers on a Friday evening, with 24 craft and local beer taps, as well as three wine taps.

For our city dwelling friends on the run, their express coffee window is open from 7am, where you can grab a Bear Bones Espresso blend.

Although the new kid on the block is home to an all-American fare, the portion sizes are perfectly satisfying and won’t leave you feeling like Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka.
