And just like that, we are well and truly in 2019. January is already done and dusted, and before you know it, summer will be over for another year. But luckily for us, we still have one more month of afternoon cocktails, late sunsets and scorching sand to soak up before we don our jackets again. If you’re looking to make the most of the last rays of summer sun, then be sure to check out some of the Coast’s best events happening this February.

Tia Gostelow At Miami Marketta

Young muso and songbird Tia Gostelow is kicking off her Thick Skin album tour at the Miami Marketta and trust us when we say you won’t want to miss out. Whether you’ve heard her laidback coastal tunes on Triple J, are a long-time fan, or just love a good live music gig, this is the perfect event to kick off February. Be sure to book your tickets ASAP so you don’t miss out!

Seaside Sounds Kirra

Every Sunday in February, Kirra Foreshore will light up (quite literally) with live tunes, food trucks, and good times. If watching the sunset on a picnic rug while listening to the musings of Felicity Lawless, Tay Oskee, Satisvibes and more sounds like your ideal Sunday afternoon, then be sure to get yourself down to Kirra for at least one of the Sunday sessions. The best part? It’s completely free (and totally Insta-worthy).

Goldy Rocks 2019

Coming back to the Coast for another year, this family friendly music and food festival truly has something for everyone. With live entertainment from local and international artists, indigenous music and dance, as well as international food stalls and rides, there’s plenty to keep both the young and the young at heart entertained.

Can Tho Kitchen Boozy Brunch

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, Can Tho Kitchen is hosting a boozy brunch that’ll have you loosening your belt buckle. For $49 per person, you get cocktails, beers, and wines, as well your choice of main course. With options like sexy squid, grilled pork vermicelli salad, and chicken and cashews, you won’t be disappointed. Wash it all down with a summertime lychee spritzer and your boozy brunch will be complete.

Super Bowl At The Star

If you love your American football (or just want an excuse to get drunk and eat hotdogs during the day), then head to The Star Casino this game day for a Superbowl you won’t forget. Think mega screens, hot dog eating competitions, giveaways, and food specials including American favourites like buffalo wings, burgers, nachos and pizza. There are also booth packages available so you and your mates can enjoy game day in style.

Eurovision – Australia Decides

Some of Australia’s best musicians are coming head to head on the Gold Coast to compete for the chance to represent Australia at this year’s Eurovision. Contenders include Ella Hooper, Kate Miller-Heidke, and Sheppard, as well as many more talented artists. Hosted by Joel Creasey and Myf Warhurst, the competition is sure to be just as entertaining as Eurovision itself.

When: Friday 8 February from 6:30pm and Saturday 9 February from 12 pm

Lunar New Year Celebration

Welcome in the year of the pig by pigging out at the Gold Coast’s Chinatown Asian street food markets. There’ll be live music, cultural entertainment, children’s activities, a pop-up laneway bar, a screening of Babe, and fireworks at 9:00pm. Chinatown’s authentic Asian restaurants will also be open, so you can get the best of both fine Asian cuisine and traditional street food.

Cornerstone Stores 1st Birthday Party

One of our absolute fave places to while away a day eating, drinking and shopping, Cornerstone Stores are celebrating their first birthday and throwing a fab party to celebrate. There will picnic tables set up on lawn, live music and pop up bars from the teams at Balter and Ink Gin. Best of all? It’s running all week long.

La Fiesta Festival

The excitement, colour, culture and delicious eats of Rio de Janeiro’s famous Carnivale festival are coming to the Coast once again, with the third annual La Fiesta festival. Bringing the tastes and sounds of South America, the festival has everything from Brazilian DJs and dancers to vibrant street foods from local food trucks.

Desert Digs market at Mos's is your one stop shop for all things cool. Think old school threads by Thryft GC and local stalls, Vinyl by Howl and Moan Records, and eats provided by Spilt Milk. Rummage And Open Mic Night At Miami Marketta

If a night of live entertainment while rummaging through vintage threads sounds like your perfect evening, then be sure to hit up the rummage and open mic night at Miami Marketta this February. There’ll be vintage goods, art, jewelry, sale racks, and heaps of bargains, plus mid week Marketta street food and a Gin parlor.
