It’s State of Origin time again and we’ve got the best places for you to get your game on across the Gold Coast. Whether you’re a Maroon or Blues supporter, there’s nothing like watching the game live and loud with a crowd. We’ve compiled the best places to ingest the game, along with some good grub and bargain beverages to wash it all down.

Win or lose, you’ll be happy you hit up these GC greats for Wednesday’s kick off.

Burleigh Pavilion

Burleigh Heads

Extra points for this place if you’re a Queensland supporter, Burleigh Pavilion will shout you a free drink if the cane toads win. The dinner is cheap and the screens are many. Grab a bargain burger and a schooey or vino for only $20 at the Beach Bar and enjoy the game across six screens with the ocean as your backdrop.

The Star

Line your stomach with a pre-game BBQ buffet and drinks package at the Sports Bar Terrace for $79, then set yourself up on the lawn at Garden Kitchen & Bar for an Origin night with flair and ‘Flan’. Hosted by 102.9 Hot Tomato, watch the game on the mega outdoor screen surrounded by food trucks and plenty of bars. Less time spent in lines means more cheering.

Chapter & Verse, Marriott

Surfers Paradise

Get there early to make the most of game one in style with big screens and a pretty setting at Chapter & Verse. $35 will get you a delicious, crispy wood-fired pizza and a pitcher of beer. Plus, it’s an excuse to dress up mid-week without giving your wallet a workout.

Crafty’s Sports Bar

Biggera Waters

True sports fans converge here and fans of a great casual meal are welcomed with open arms. Go all out and drop an even $100 for a 2.5 litre beer tower and two buckets of fried chicken and sides at Crafty's this Wednesday. Don’t miss a second of the action, book a booth to score full table service and make sure you bring your pom poms to win team gear throughout the night.

Coolangatta Hotel

Get rowdy right on the borderline of NSW and QLD as our states go head to head for game one. Make your loyalty known and order your Steak of Origin for $25 to get the night rolling. Pledge your allegiance with a Queensland Steak with Moreton Bay bug and a XXXX Gold or the New South Wales Steak complete with chilli prawns and a VB. With all screens streaming the game, you’re in for a big one at the Cooly Hotel.

Brewed Brewery

Paradise Point

Book a table of six or more and the chicken wings are free at Brewed Brewery! Watch the game and devour international and local microbrewery beers with an American BBQ menu at  this northern waterfront watering-hole.

The Broadbeach

Giant screens, game score comps, best dressed prizes and the chance to win your own team jersey await at The Broadbeach. Wrap your chops around an $18 Maroon Double Cheeseburger to fuel your fist-pumps. Join the scrum at The Broadbeach for the first of three games in their recently refurbished digs for Origin.

Burleigh Heads Hotel

Burleigh Heads

Join the locals with a pot and parmy for $10 or throw down $15 for a bowl of chicken wings and a jug of beer at the Burleigh Heads Hotel. Secure your spot in front of the big screen with a $60 beer tower and food platter and up the ante by calling the first try in the scorer’s comp for a $100 cash prize. Cheap and cheerful at its finest.
