Lovers of seafood better mark their calendars for 29 March, because that’s when Fish & Sips hits town. This weekend-long celebration joins together Perth’s best seafood restaurants with the South West’s best wineries.
As expected there’s plenty to see and (more importantly) eat at this incredible seafood festival. Watch local chefs cook their signature dishes, like Leigh Power of Sweetwater and his amazing dumplings, or Young George’s Melissa Palinkas and her two courses of fish paired with Margaret River wine.
Fish and Sips’ token payment system allows you to sample a whole range of seafood, including Uma’s $3 fish and chips and Long Chim’s sour orange fish curry. There’s even a stand-up tasting garden where you can learn to cook and sample delish eats, like Cook & Mason’s sardines a la plancha together with wine from Walsh and Sons.
As the sun sets, wander over to the main stage and listen to live tunes from some of WA’s best local acts. While you’re there, you’ll want to make a beeline for the Beach BBQ where special guest chefs will be showcasing how to cook everything from crabs and Rottnest scallops to local fish.
