PSA: Bottomless Cocktails & Italian Feasts Are Hitting Sydney

Picture this. You’re sitting among friends, laughing, sipping on a delectable cocktail, twirling your fork deep into a cheesy, steaming bowl of pasta while listening to Italian jazz. Oomph! Sounds pretty fabulous, right?! Well, have we got news for you! Unbutton those jeans, clear your schedule and channel your inner Luigi because bottomless cocktails and Italian feasts, we repeat - bottomless cocktails and Italian feasts - are hitting Sydney.

Inspired by the Italian love for long, boozy feasts with friends and family, Fratelli Fresh is hosting a four-course ‘Long Table Series’ across Sydney, showcasing all the feels and flavours of Italy’s most mouth-watering locations: Sicily, Tuscany and Milan. Fratelli Fresh’s Head Chef, Gabor Denes says the focus of their 'Long Table Series' is to transport guests to an idyllic Italian location. "Each region of Italy delivers its own vibrant flavours and produce and we want that to shine through in all three of our menus.”

An ode to everything we love about Italy, the four-course series will be split across three dates, giving you and your pals the chance to dine like a true Italian while sippin’ on endless espresso martinis, Aperol spritz, negronis, prosecco, wine and beer. Did we mention it’s only $79? Sign us up!

And hey, if you’re mad for the Mediterranean (like us) why attend one when you can attend all three? Just sayin’.

Sicily

Fratelli Fresh’s recently opened Darling Harbour restaurant plays host to their Sicilian-inspired spread. If your Insta feed is flooded with friends’ European summer snaps, rest assured, this carefully-curated, Sicilian smorgasbord will not only leave you seriously satisfied but your followers seriously green-eyed. From crunchy arancini and drool-worthy rigatoni to grilled swordfish and creamy cannoli, this tasty menu is equally authentic as it is generous. Our fave? The giant, sizzling, Sicilian-style mussels served straight from the pot.

Tuscany

No need to book that plane ticket to the rolling Tuscan hills (although, always a good idea) when you can eat your way through Tuscany right here in Sydney. A nod to the local rustic approach to cooking, Fratelli Fresh’s Tuscan menu is both hearty and ultra-delizioso. The standout? The bistecca alla Florentine. Revered as the epitome of Tuscan steaks, this tantalising T-bone is served medium rare, and paired with crispy, twice-cooked potatoes and Brussels sprouts (*drools*). To say the bistecca is mouth-wateringly juicy would be an understatement.

Milan

It’s probably best to eat lightly in the lead up to this baby because this four-course dinner is everything and more. Paying homage to Milan’s rich flavours and succulent protein, Gabor Denes’ heavenly menu is fit for an Italian qween. Sure, the salami Milanese antipasto board brimming with Italian olives and grissini is by far one of the best we’ve tried, but the hero of this sensational spread is without a doubt the ossobucco with gremolata. Resting on a bed of buttery risotto alla Milanese, the veal shin will melt in your mouth and honestly blow your mind.
